Alright tell me /v/, are there any great JRPGs hidden somewhere in GOG's catalogue?
I'm looking for games akin to the Square greats of the 90s.

Stop using that cancer JRPG image
You can emulate most good JRPGs.
If you're looking for PC-native games I could list some but I don't know what's on GOG and I don't see why you would restrict yourself that way.

DRM free and fuck Steam.

Are you an idiot? Who mentioned steam? I don't like steam either, I'm just confused as to why you limit yourself to games on GOG or any other digital distribution system. Emulation works perfectly for many games.
Anyway some notable JRPGs available on PC (in english) include:
- dark souls
- the last remnant
- ys oath in felghana
- ys origins
- trails in the sky
- grandia 2
- dragon's dogma
- valkyria chronicles
- There are also some Atelier and Tales games but from what I hear the entries released on PC aren't very good.
