Unlike any game I'e ever played

It seems like we're in a time where game companies are focusing on facial expressions, lighting, having celebrities in their game and the such.

This game blew me away because it focused on the experience of being a video game. All the way through I was blown away.

I'd say Automatas gameplay was way more polished and entertaining than any turd of a combat system Bethesda has shit out though. On the harder difficulties you have to pay attention, Dodge, etc. Elder scrolls combat is completely brainless, and that's coming from someone who loved Morrowind.

Modern Bethesda games have no gameplay, they are only popular because they're modable and Bethesda has zero competition. No one else is making big budget, moddable, open world, first person RPGs that fall into the same market.

Which is why comparing them is infantile.

You can call it weeb meme combat all you'd like, it's still significantly more involved and requires more player input than TES combat once you play on hard. You die in a few hits, you have to pay attention to telegraphed attacks, and some bosses can instakill you. All of the automatic attachments are disabled as well.

From a gameplay perspective, there's more going on. But gameplay doesn't always translate to more discussion online.

Games with roleplaying potential are always going to have a continued following over games that are just good or rather niche. It doesn't mean they're inherently better, they just lead to community (modding) and discussion (allowing people to roleplay, create custom characters, etc)

I can appreciate both.
