anyways, i didn't enjoy the PS2 ace combat games, very slow narrative and it's just Jet dogfighting and bombing shit with lockon rockets.
i have no doubt that it's a good "one of those games" but generally speaking it's just mediocre.

I just started playing through 6 again and I forgot how good it was. The operations and allied attack abilities, ECM and Electronic Support, high-g and perfect-lock missiles. If the game had been multi-plat it would have been ranked as one of the best.

The timer is fine, and the levels are designed to be beaten within the time limit. It generally has better levels than Future for that reason.

The control scheme of the games is commonly criticized, though, so I don't know if it'd be possible to say that no one dislikes them.
