3 was a failed experiment. They tried to make things even bigger and add a more realistic look to the characters while making the story and writing much stupider.

4 was just awful in every way.

Yes. They went for generic grimdark brown&bloom looks and feel, trying to simulate TWD or something.

I would say the stuff they added regarding cars was not really worth keeping around. The new characters didn't really work when they went for real look and then had a fuck mechanical arm or a beehive for a head. The final boss is just a military leader again. The Psychos being tied to the 7 deadly sins felt out of place. I liked some of the survivors but I just was not feeling 3 at all.
