Getting lost in exploration is the fun part, really, the quest themselves aren't all super great

I thought I couldn't be disappointed by games anymore, until I found out what was planned for this originally. The fact that it's still a tremendously fun game despite having lost the majority of what was planned is really something.

Ah yeah, they did tell me 'there is no end in sight' or 'it keeps growing more tentacles' but I thought it was one of those "hit the real body otherwise the battle won't end" kind of deal. I thought the longer tentacles were the ones to hit.

Suits got impatient with a game that was already trending high on expected budget. Japan suits are particularly bad about this even with games they understand, let alone games catering to Western sensibilities. More time, and more money and this would have been an icon. As it is it's a curiosity with great gameplay and interesting plot points in the later portions of the game - but is otherwise bogged down by roughness and dev time and budget cut short.

Yeah it can be confusing sometimes, but it's a small taste of an endgame monster, so during that encounter the pawns have similar lines when engaging the actual monster, though some are unique to it

I wanted to enjoy this game lads but after lolly gagging around Gransys and clearing most I think? of Bitterblack Isle I lost interest and quit... Is assassin a boring meme class? Where did I go wrong?

Warriors are great for Pawns, give them all the knockdown equips and augments you got and they can staggerlock even Death with jumping light attacks. If anything Fighter is terrible for Pawns, they have an extra 3 skills to cycle through before they incorrectly use one of the shield ones

The good thing about Assassin is that its stat growth meshes with the other physical classes well. Try a different Red or Yellow vocation to mix it up.

kinda depends on what you want, i think. i played sorc, and i had a better experience with full-bestiary warriors than full-bestiary fighters. the best warriors all had ecliptic slash, which would keep tripping groups of monsters long enough for me to cast spells.

fighters have more damage potential i think. dragon's maw is very strong(and can knock back, as opposed to ecliptic's trip), and they can pick of individual monsters with blitz strike and sheltered fusillade. neither are any good at killing bosses, though.

I'm about to see the duke for the first time, did some hunter quests and side quests as a mystic knight and I'm getting kind of tired of the skills available.
Is it a good thing to do to change your class this early? Will my arisen retain the skills of a mystic knight granted I don't pick a class that can't wield a shield or a sword?

The way growths work pre-100 and post-100 you're sort of encouraged to play the Basic and Advance classes before tackling Hybrid classes. Although Assassins have the best STR growth, MA and MK growths are pretty shit pre-100

Generally yeah, you'll keep all the augments and any cross-class skills such as Blink Strike or Ingle while gaining new ones. Stats outside of HP/STAM don't really matter in the long run since end game gear will make any deficiencies trivial. If you're getting bored of a class feel free to switch.
