We ended up playing 4 full continents of Dokapon Kingdom and beating each others up in Day of Reckoning 2 for the GC.

I was in middle school when I got my Wii. I didn't hate it, but I never really enjoyed any of the motion control shit, I just wanted the new Nintendo thing. In the end I was rather let down so I ended up getting a 360 later.

Now on the other hand, my first game was Sonic and the Secret Rings, so maybe I just set myself up for a terrible first impression. I warmed up to the system a few years later and Xenoblade is one of my favorite games now.

I understand that my experience may not match someone who owned a PS1 and PS2, but for a guy born and raised on Nintendo for the first 20 years of his life, it was great.

I didn't even care about the drought at the begging. I had way too many games on the PS1 and PS2 to enjoy, that I had never touched beyond spending the night at a friends house every now and again. The Ace Combat Trilogy alone was pure god-tier.

If you're gonna buy one, you may as well get the best one. I got mine on ebay for 50 bucks "for parts," 6 months after the console launched, got it in the mail, and then immediately called Sony and sent it in for repairs. Got a launch 60 gb PS3 for 170 bucks, then spent another 100 to get a 320gb HDD (largest 2.5" that they had that was affordable in spring of 2007) for 100 bucks.

Still cost less than half what they were asking, and I don't think they ever got below $299 in the first 5 years. Still going strong today.

Sony figured out what was wrong with them pretty quickly. I'm sure they were just glad I wasn't angry on the phone, and was willing to pay the $120 repair cost. Also, Slims weren't available 6 months after launch.

I once bought in my Wii for a last day of high school fun day. Lots of people loved it.

Unfortunately it was quickly forgotten that the Wii was mine, and I wasn't confident enough to ask to join in. So mostly I watched. I had to sit around until everyone was bored of it *after school time* until I could finally pick the thing up and take it home. At that point, one of the controllers was broken and another had gotten wet so it wasn't picked up properly by the sensor.

I bought the wii in high school and I had a lot of fun with my friends playing it. That makes it a good console for me. Mario bros, smash, charged football, monhun, madworld, tetris and others. I remember that I had to use Skype on psp (which btw has like the Best fucking Microphone ever) to communicate with my friend while playing tetris. Im glad i picked it up, especially that after the NES the only consoles I had were sony's. Im catching up with snes classics till this day.

The Wii came out about a year or so before I moved away from home (I was around 22 years old). It was my best friend when I was trying to cope with being an adult, and the fun I had then will be with me forever. I eventually got a PS3 and an Xbox 360 that gen too, but it was always Wii that I came back to. In the end, I ended up with around 50 Wii games, and like 80% of them were good.

The wii was great console but let's be real it was totally inferior to 360 and the ps3. I was jealous at that graphics of the naruto games that those could perform compared to the wii' naruto games. It's a shame the wii u never got a new naruto clash of the ninja game. Still pissed off for spending $350 on the paper weight of console. Most of friends had mature for Nintendo's games and would never want to put up with their bullshit limitations again. I felt very lonely with wii u for a long a long time until I got black ops 2 in 2014 and interacted with cult players in the multiplayer and zombies mode.
