new 2DS XL is lighter, has a cover for the game slot but I keep hearing the top screen wobbles a little at times

The 3D is nice but you won't bother with it after the first hour.

Mine serves me well as a GBA\SNES emulation machine. DS\3DS is like a biggest library in history, so you are likely to find something that suits your taste. Also, NEW 2DS XL is one the way, consider that one

Do you like SMT games? That's really your main draw, there's a shit ton, and most of them are really good.

Aside from that there's a decent selection of platformers, more Pokemon games, a few alright 3D action games like Ace Combat, and a few other gems. It's no DS, but it has a decent enough library at this point to be worth the purchase, in my opinion.

Bought it used for 20 bucks and another 5$ for an 8Gb micro SD (you don't need more IMO, many NDS games are less than 50MB).

I would get a new 2DS XL myself. The design is just right (I mean let's be honest, there's an orange and white combination there and that's pretty much my favorite color combination, no fucking kidding) and it's meant to be just an improvement overall. It's not going to be unhackable either. No reason not to just wait for a little while, and it's cheaper than the new 3DS XL. 3D effect is worth nothing.

With the advances on older versions I would say that I trust the community to do a fine job, sooner or later. I'm the kind of person that can wait months for that kinda shit.
