PS3 Super Slim 12GB or 500GB

What's the price difference? 12gb is definetly not enough (some games install 10gb+ and patches and shit), but you can replace the HDD fairly easily, so if the difference between 12 and 500 is a lot just get the 12 and use your own HDD.

Most games don't install, but 12GB really isn't enough. My PS3 isn't hooked up at the moment, but I know I have more than 12GB worth of games on it and I don't buy digital games

If you're not going to keep them all on the HDD then 12GB is plenty

PS3 games take insane amounts of space and the installation is usually slow. The PS3 is not like the PS4 that installs games while you play, with this one you have to wait till it finish first and sometimes it takes hours. The PS3 was a badly designed console to say the least.

12gb is nothing. A few updates and you'll only be able to have 2 games installed at once

Buy the basic 12GB model and install a hard drive yourself if you feel like you need one. Shop smart and you'll pay less for it.

Not in the slightest, since there are some games which take up the majority of those 12GB (MGS4) up by themselves, and there is also patches and donwloaded content.

This BUT you need to buy a HDD case because A) Slim's is different from previous models and B) it doesn't come with one. This could be a bigger obstacle for some and reason to just buy the console with HDD already inside.
