PLD is fucking ridiculous and I foresee severe nerfs in future patches. They lost less skills than any other job, and unlike other jobs, it can take ALL of its lost skills back in cross-class. The only things they really "lost" were Bloodbath and Mercy Stroke, which are trivial compared to what they gained.

On top of that, they also gained more than any other job, getting massive improvements to both mitigation and damage, and even more party utility than they already had. They now have about quadruple the party defense utility of DRK, and infinitely more than WAR which has nothing.

Yes. The game was already sleep inducing as it was, and you had to scrounge up what little depth the game had to offer

The problem is that what keeps games interesting long term is the means to constantly improve and learn something new. Once you've mastered something it tends to stop having appeal. So even if it's in little ways, it's important to have some ounce of depth that can be expanded on. For example, managing cleric stand to optimize GCD usage on a fight by fight basis so you waste as few GCDs switching back and forth. Now you can't even do things like that anymore

So briefly looking over changes to WHM, it looks like they boosted WHM's heal and damage potencies, while reducing recast timers. Isn't that good? The lillies and confession stacks are still kind of clumsy and don't seem to add that much, but I suppose if you play WHM as usual with those small additions as little boni, it might be alright. Then again, I'm not much of a healer myself.

I'm a little confused about AST's nocturnal aspected benefic. Does it not heal at all anymore?

I'm pretty sure that the way it works is that every time you get hit, you get 1 Blood and an effect that gives you 4 Blood every server tick.

In single-target, it'll probably be more or less identical to the pre-release "5 blood per hit" effect, but in AoE, you're only going to get 4 blood per tick, plus 1 per actual incoming hit.

Basically I think they wanted you to be getting 14-15 Blood per GCD on a big dungeon pull instead of literally 50-60+, while still letting you get 5 Blood per hit if you're tanking a single boss.

It's a big anti-fun nerf that stops you from spamming Quietus every single GCD of every dungeon, but I don't think they nerfed the whole skill into the ground or anything.

I can't wait to play my PLD. Simple job and may not have been the best tank dps/aoe wise but I enjoyed it anyways since 2.0 cause I love swords/shields. Glad to see we get buffed after all this time. Hell back when shield swipe wasn't a global cd I'd use it as my "aoe" move since it would proc so much and was good spreading out that enmity with big mobs.

If you assume that you're otherwise dealing constant damage over time, then nu-Berserk is better. If you take into account that WAR doesn't do constant damage over time, but tries to stack all their big attacks inside the Berserk window, it's a nerf.

It basically took Inner Release for it to become an overall buff, and even then it's kind of questionable, because (depending on the fight design) WAR could often 'hide' the downtime on Berserk by making sure that the cooldown was ticking away during extended downtime, so that it had a 20s duration and only 40-50 seconds of effective downtime. That's harder to do (and less valuable in general) with the new cooldown.

Overall it's pretty much a wash, or a very small buff.

So I'm slightly confused by the offer they're making for transferring from "congested" servers. I'm currently stuck on Gilgamesh because I'm a retard, but they say that "Transferring from a high population World to a designated World will earn you... Transfer is free of charge". yes, but only the cutscenes when it fades to black. You lose any incidental dialogue, and all of the quest dialogue when it's not in "cutscene mode". So you're getting a good chunk, but you're missing out on a shitload of stuff. Tons of great dialogue and character moments are in the incidental dialogue when side characters are standing around the quest-advancer.
