One thing is what they say and another is what they do. While it's true that 3DS support so far looks like it's going to last until mid-2018 at the very least, with Pokemon's arrival to Switch is going to be hard to keep the support for it instead of making the Switch to a better portable.

You're going to have a hard time without a second analog stick. The New 2-3DS has a little nub from those 90's laptops, which just barely passes as one.

Otherwise, better get used to locking on constantly, which I found the mechanic too sluggish for end-game.

Build quality is ok, you're gonna get guaranteed TN screens (perhaps better than playing the IPS lottery at all) but you have the benefit of no hinges meaning it's gonna last a lot longer. A case is more or less mandatory but it's only around $10. the small screen sucks ass, although it's really only noticeable after playing games on any other console ever. on the plus side it has much better shoulder buttons + dpad placement than any of the other DS models. Never had a hand cramp on that machine. It's really close to the OG GBA in how it is to hold.

I plan to for Metroid Samus Returns, since the 3DS will last past 2019, I'll hold off from getting a Switch due to Sakamoto most likely using the Samus Returns engine for Metroid Dread on the 3DS.
