Pretty much yeah. There will be games with simple dialog wheels and A or B type choices but the days of complexity are over.

The dialogue wheel is the stupidest feature in RPGs in years.

I unironically really enjoy TES games and have replays with new mods every couple years of both Oblivion and Skyrim.

People need to stop being so picky about voice acting. The only way to expand the RPG genre without inflating development time and cost is to go back to text based dialogue. If modern visual production continues at its current pace along with the expectation of voiced characters (protagonist or otherwise), there will never be a meaningful advance in the genre with regards to gameplay or player immersion. Developers and players need to have faith in their imaginations again and accept that having voice acting isn't worth limited role-playing systems. Gameplay needs to focus less on combat and more on players influencing their playthrough. Combat has become the stand in for non-traditional game interactions because of how canned the roleplaying needs to be as a result of voice acting. So RPGs have continued to focus more on the rules of D&D instead of enabling roleplaying. It has become about numbers and instead of creativity. It's more about min-maxing than swinging from chandeliers dropping oil on enemies' heads so your fire mage can burn them.
