Thoughts on Darkest Dungeon?
Overconfidence is a slow and insidious killer.
I've seen darker.
I want to fuck Plague Doctor's intestines out!

Played too much during early access and burned myself out before the full game came out
>>380693113
I was trying to finish the game before the DLC hit, but I loaded up my save on my work computer and all my Musketeers were deleted. I haven't played since then.

Why is Plague Doc so fucking cute, seriously?

I was doing so good but then everything went so wrong.

RNG garbage

10/10 atmosphere, narration and story. It's the perfect Lovecraftian game in that regard. The actual game can be excessively tedious and unfair, though. Even if this is what the developer was aiming for, it doesn't make it any more fun.

cool idea if it wasnt extremely boring
insanely boring
mind-numbingly boring

>Musketeers were deleted.
And nothing of value was lost. But seriously its probably because you installed the musketeers mod on your home computer and forgot to install it on your work one. Of course I'm just assuming you used the mod and I'm also assuming you already installed it on your home computer.

Pretty neato, but some bullshit always happens that keeps me from finishing it

Same here.

I just finished a Radiant playthrough a few days ago, getting ready to do a normal playthrough when the DLC comes out in a couple days.
I had a lot of fun and I can't think of a single party death that wasn't my fault. Like during the first Darkest Dungeon level, I accidentally pressed embark before I had bought bandages, and one of my Jesters died to bleed damage. One great part of the new(ish) events systems is that some of your party members come back as part of a random event.
They added a lot of variety to the game, and quite frankly I find the core gameplay loop to be pretty compelling. Not to mention that everything other than gameplay is 10/10.
If you aren't willing to accept losses and move on, this isn't the game for you. Very rarely is a party member dying not your own fault. Many of the different classes have tools to completely avoid damage, the Man-at-Arms has buffs that are top tier in basically every party.
The game is memorable and fun, I would suggest you play it. I'm kind of coming off a high from beating it for the first time just the other day, but I greatly enjoyed my time and it was worth the $20 I payed for it.
Fantastic game, OP. Play it if you get a chance, although you should be forewarned that the regular non-Radiant campaign takes a hell of a long time to finish.
Also great as a salt generator for when you lose your god-tier characters

DLC can't drop soon enough
