Which is better? Trigger or Cross? And why?

Loved Chrono Cross but the disconnected story forces it to lose.
why did chrono cross the road?
Trick question. I like both games.

Trigger is a solid 9/10 timeless classic while Cross is a 7/10 with the worst final boss fight ever made.
trigger all day due to godlike pacing
cross drags too long too many times
it is what it is cross is good but you can beat chrono trigger over two-3 weeks playing an hour a day or by no lifing over a 3 day weekend.
Cross you would need like 4 months if you did an hour a day no lifing you would need about a week and you'd probably need a guide at some time.
Cross also has way more content but trigger was short and sweet with some satisfying optional content. It follows a story arc and then in that arc is like maybe 3 smaller arcs going on. Cross is sort of a cluster fuss of things going on and since there's a lot of things going on you get to pathways that make content A or B decisions that affect other events later on then it goes back to a main event it's sort of messy and doesn't often reward you since doing one thing causes an opposite effect elsewhere later.
I like what it attempted but I don't think it executed it very well.
Trigger for sure, its better in every way except music

I'd agree with this. Cross should have been its own standalone title. Trigger never needed a sequel and drawing comparisons between it and Cross only highlight Cross' many flaws.
>you have to play as the fucking cat for a big chunk of the game
Bullshit.
