I really enjoyed the game back during closed beta and tried playing it again after it released but the fucking japanese bull shit drove me away. I would genuinely love to play PSO2 if they'd just fucking release it for NA. I will always despise SEGA for being massive faggots about this game.

A: Sega fuck up and never release in the West because they hate Western
B: Region lock the fuck out of it for many years
C: Even if you can get in, you're a BR in a japanese server
Simply put it, Fuck you Sega. They may have remove the region lock but that was too little to late for me.

Wanted to like it, but it's so fucking boring. Plus while I never really play MMOs for story, the episode 4 stuff was the fucking worst excuse of a story I've ever seen.

Nice character creator though.

A fine game but inferior to PSO1 in a number of subjective ways.
The Pioneer 2, the soundtrack, class designs, basic SFX for attacking and menus and monsters etc., its all more charming and iconic.

PSO2 has those randomized events where a weird objective sprouts up, and especially those moments where a dozen or two dozen players all join together, THAT'S where PSO2 shines.
I haven't played since Ep3 [the Japan themed one?] but I hope they focused more on those features.

It's fun, some classes like Techer are pretty fucking shit thanks to the fact they didn't really care to actually give them a playstyle of their own other than wand whacking.
The fact the whole game is played around weak bullet kind of sucks I don't know if it still is the same though, especially because Ranger for some stupid reason is rewarded with damage multipliers that come from "standing still", and I'm not sure who has fun standing still in a game like this. Other than that, Fighter and Gunner are top tier fun classes to play.
