The Luma is pretty inoffensive. You can pretty much forget it's there aside from popping out from Mario's hat to tip you off that your spin is off cooldown.

Cappy is in an unreleased game so it's tough to say. I think its googly-eyes popping out of Mario's cap is pretty ugly, but the tricks we've seen Mario do with Cappy are pretty creative. If the possession mechanic isn't as shallow as it looks Cappy will probably take it.
