Whats the difference between a game director and a producer? Who is reponsable for the masterpiece that is SM, Sakamoto or Kano?

Directors tell everyone what to do, producers keep the Jews that made it happen happy.

>A film director is a person who directs the making of a film. Generally, a film director controls a film's artistic and dramatic aspects and visualizes the screenplay (or script) while guiding the technical crew and actors in the fulfillment of that vision. The director has a key role in choosing the cast members, production design, and the creative aspects of filmmaking.[1] Under European Union law, the director is viewed as the author of the film.[2]
>Film producers fill a variety of roles depending upon the type of producer.[1] Either employed by a production company or independent, producers plan and coordinate various aspects of film production, such as selecting script, coordinating writing, directing and editing, and arranging financing.[2] During the "discovery stage", the producer has to find and acknowledge promising material.[3] Then, unless the film is supposed to be based on an original script, the producer has to find an appropriate screenwriter.[4]

I'm gonna assume the same logic applies for vidya.

director has the vision and sets the tone
producer organizes and executes that vision

It doesn't matter, because nobody here actually knows what the exact dev process of a certain game is like, so they credit all of the good decisions to a developer that they like, and use one they don't like as a scapegoat for everything bad about the game.
>>
Director is more hands on
Producer is more oversee
>>
Producer gets what the director demands.

If it is similar to theater Producer highers the big positions(Sound Director, Dev Director, Art Director) and the directors higher the smaller names to work on that section.

So in terms of games going shitty/good blame both the director and producer. Director for having a direct hand and the producer for hiring the director
