Just because he's less lenient and has too many things to fuck you over for you to remember doesn't mean it's not a universal tactic in this game (or any other dance type game) to know the fight before expecting to win it.

Everyone fellates it because the mechanics and coordination are unique and it never stops pulling shit out of its ass instead of being lazy and recyling its attacks. And if you want to argue about "handling shit happening simultaneously" there are several phases in the fight that are exactly that.

If someone doesn't recognize that 95% of Brute Justice has explicitly been taught to you by previous fights in Midas and other extremely common mechanics that are nearly impossible to not understand by the time you get to endgame raiding, then they're obviously just having a sour grapes shitfit because they weren't actually good enough to deal with the fight.

At this point I think we'll just have to agree to disagree because I don't think piling more and more shit onto an already overloaded fight instead of reusing familiar mechanics with a new spin is good design. The latter DOES happen in a8s but it's only on a few specific occasions with elements from a6. Recycling attacks isn't being lazy, it reduces bloat and keeps the fight consistent. Brute Justice isn't consistent.

It's hard to say, because there are so many more party buffs (and a lot fewer class-to-class dependencies) in Stormblood compared to Heavensward.

Ozma was definitely more fun than any of the other 24-man bosses. Actual separation between the three parties where they're each responsible for mechanics, gradually rising intensity of mechanics, the spectacle of the whole Black hole sequence, etc.

However it's definitely nothing special compared to a lot of older 8-man bosses that deserve a Super Savage revamp and I don't know if any of the good parts of Ozma would even translate to an 8-man fight. And Super Savage is DOA if they try to make it a 24-man encounter.

Gear wont be a problem, theres vendor gear in hw better than top tier coil gear, and the same will probably be true of sb

If you never played HW though you will have to do all of the story before getting to sb (unless youre one of those that wants to buy a level 60 and skip it, squeenix is gonna be offering them soon)

But HW story was really good compared to ARR, even with less populated zones and slightly longer queues i guarantee you will enjoy it if you liked arr.

I know in regular dungeons at least its basically impossible to use it. No matter how far ahead I pop it for boss AoE sections the healers almost seem to go out of their way to heal me last so the buff goes up well after the damage goes out.

I can only assume they initially designed it to just be a skill you popped and it gave the buff to everyone near you, but decided that was too straightforward or easy to use or something, and crammed in the ass backwards heal-trigger effect.

I was fine with DoT management, too. People complained it was boring in 2.x and I could see why, but it was fine for me. 3.x added Dreadwyrm Trance and Dealthflare which made it crazy fun. I have tried it, countless times even, and more often than not the buff either disappears unused (or I cast a clemency just to get it out there), or it gets popped after some or all the AoE damage I was trying to prevent has gone out. Conceptually its perfectly fine, but it falls apart without communication.

The fastest way is fates and roullettes. But its pointless because you need to do story quests to unlock most content, so if you grind levels youre just gonna have to go back and do a bunch of quests under your level and it will be 10x as boring because the rewards would be useless at that point

Once the patch hits early level lancer will be slightly less hell since True Thust > Vorpal Thrust will be better than Impulse Drive x2. It'll just be regular levels of early level hell.

The best way to level for a new player is simply MSQ. Though you'll probably hit a level wall at around lvl 35 where the experience you get isn't enough to meet the level requirements. Make sure you run the leveling roulette once per day once you unlock your first three dungeons. Also Palace of the Dead.

1-2-3 1-2-4 1-2-4 repeat is only "managing two combos" in the most strict, technical definition. Upheaval is just a slightly improved Brutal Swing (which you lost, so Upheaval is your only oGCD that isn't a DPS loss).

DRK's one combo at least still has multiple Dark Arts variations and you don't just do DA, Normal, Normal the way that WAR has to do Eye, Path, Path over and over.

WAR is the least engaging tank by far at this point. PLD at least has a few different oGCDs to deal with.

I've run the entire MSQ since 3.0 hit because I didn't actually play during ARR, something which I now really regret not doing and the level wall is still very real by the time you hit Coerthas for the first time. MSQs will only give you roughly half the experience required for the next level so you'll be grinding FATEs in CCH a lot, and it only gets worse later on. Once you hit 50 though it's all smooth sailing from there and the tons of experience you get from doing ARR content means you won't hit any level walls until the late 50s, if ever.
