There's some joke lore but that about explains their powers. The masks keeps their arms controlled and they can compress their arms to make em normal so they can eat and stuff.

The game isn't bad but it clearly isn't going to be a serious competitive game. Even once you get past the scrub killer like grab spamming the game just lacks depth. Your answers to situations are simple and easy to do and even with stage gimmicks positioning your opponent doesn't mean much as opposed to trying to corner someone in SF.
