To me that was the most entertaining presentation on all of E3 for the last few years, simply because they did something more entertaining. It's so hard to watch any of the other presentations because I can't help but feel like these companies think I am an absolute moron. But I guess that's just what you have to do if you're as large as Sony or Microsoft and absolutely need to cast the widest net possible.

>Yeah, we know, you're 16 and your humour is fucking superior.
You'd have to be 16 to find devolver's skits funny. Post-ironic "humor" is as empty and vacuous as the things they satirize

>>380590124
Exactly.
As well, they accuse things like the pre pre show as being "anti humour". I don't see that. There were a bunch of legitimate jokes, based on the way a joke is made. The part where they played the movie trailer backwards was funny, as it subverted expectation. It had the form of a joke. It wasn't anti humour.
>>380590213
Tell us about your patrician taste for humor anon
I missed out on this when it went down, and just got through the whole fucking thing, sleep deprivation and all.
This thing could be analyzed over the coming months and you still couldn't figure out half of the shit that was intentional and just pure rolling with it. I honestly don't know how the main guy kept his energy up like that.
If you earnestly took notes and researched every sort of person and organization that was trying to reach out to you with this, it's clear the damn thing was pretty much them tearing their hearts out and handing it to you. The video game segments were succint and professional to get the pitch, but every other moment is spent sharing this extremely personal look into what they all love.
This shit seriously took me back to the weird late night TV of the early 90s, where everything had an eerie ambience even if it was supposed to be played straight.
It honestly wasn't hilarious or even made me laugh, but it was all definitely clever and pleasant. The only time I laughed was during Wolf Cop, because holy fucking shit if a Wolf Cop pointlessly welding a giant fucking W on his police cruiser didn't catch me by surprise.
What I loved most was how dark and subdued everything became as time went on. Also, FUCK that AOL piece that shit was almost too real
My only regret is not getting to share it with you autists

>>380590979
Dude I know like it was so meta omg. Are you a hilldawg also!
>>380591187
we get it dude, your humor is superior
It was cringe not because of the Adult Swim style of humor but because of how obnoxiously hard they were trying to sell it. Haha pay to win microtransactions am I right guys? Haha early access am I right guys? Let's just hold on this joke for a solid five minutes and emphasize it with lots of screaming. There's nothing clever about pointing out things everyone recognizes as annoyances in the industry which have existed for years, and that's literally all it was; just pointing those things out. Hey, this industry practice sucks, isn't that hilarious?
>>380585436

Skulls was kawaii as shit, dude was too genuine to not show his fluster at what was going on around him
The deliberate change in tone and type of guests they had on for the many suits of John was pretty much freebase kino, making the more normal people deal with the weirder shit was great.
>>380583174
Name one good game they've published, anon.
The Pre Pre Show appealed to people because it was akin to old 4chan humor. It turned people off for pretty much the same reason.

>>380591407
no it was always shit it's just the novelty wore off
>>380591491
This.
People are quick to accuse things of being below them, for whatever reason. The fact that "cringe" is used so commonly is embarrassing in itself.
It's the equivalent of teen angst. Not liking things because you believe you're superior.
>>380591491

>>380591491
Plebs calling it Tim and Eric also make me laugh
Tim and Eric had random humor, but the focus of their jokes were always on deafening social discomfort. Pregnant pauses every two minutes, inappropriate sexuality everywhere you could insert, banked largely on shock content.
This was just pure chaos. They didn't even know what they were doing or saying half the time, John was just completely insane and everyone fed off of it. I guess it requires a love of just seeing people be people to really get maximum enjoyment out of this gold.
>>380591491
>akin to old 4chan humor
>turned people off
No shit, because it's FUCKING OLD. Old 4chan humor consisted of things like this and photoshopping O RLY on to everything possible. /b/ was infested with teenagers in the early 2000s and the humor reflected it, that's not something to be nostalgic for in 2017. Yeah we all thought it was the best shit ever back then, but it isn't anymore and hasn't been for a long time, so let's move the fuck on.
>>380591491
Agree. Shit was chaotic, irreverent and fun.

You need to be more specific. 4chan has been around for almost 15 years, "old" to half of today's users could be anything from 2012. Maybe in 2005 I would have thought this was the peak of comedy.
