From what I understand, there haven't been any real improvements to the overall dialogue, story, or gameplay cycle. It still looks pretty mediocre. Fixing the animations and bugs just helps to make it less of a dumpster fire.

I'm just waiting for Vetra to get utilized in SFM animations. That's really my only interest in the game. To which even that hasn't delivered yet, so fuck the whole thing I guess.

Combat is very ME3-ish but a hella lot faster as you have a jetpack that lets you dart around.

Where ME1-3 were essentially almost cover shooters where you're just shooting behind cover to protect yourself, in andromeda you're doing mixes of dashes and jumps (jetpack is only on like a 2~ish second cooldown so you can string jumps easily)

Exploration is a mixed bag. You will either love it or hate it. Exploration is tied to something called planetary viability rating. there is a shit-ton to do on each of the planets that raises the viability on it, that eventually lets you settle a colony on it. If you ever played Dragon Age Inquisition, think of the exploration in that.

I just went Vanguard and punched everything to death because it was much faster than shooting shit.
Biotic charge and melee attacks regen more shields than enemies can shave away so you're basically immortal.

Kaidan and Liam are actually just great. They've 90% dealt with all of their issues and don't think you need to be a part of it until it gets too big for them, nor do they ever really unload on you just "because you're the main character and I need to feed you my backstory."

Liam treats the place as a club-house, but in a way that just comes across as really friendly and an excuse for some subtle comedy. Otherwise he's just kind of a good guy who wants to help but has difficulty working out how, and likes doing good for people and helping people. Liam's backstory is nice and about someone who found a job they loved and then left not because of any big "something was missing" or anything. He was curious, thought he could do good, and jumped on it before he had the chance to back out.

It's really not though. On first glance, you get the feeling that it is like that, but once you play enough of the game, you realize that's not true. They end up being extremely bland. Some of their backstories are interesting and interacting with them is good. But they lack personal goals within the main story. I'm not talking about their personal missions. I'm talking about the things that make them want to join Ryder and stick with their mission until the end to give them a better chance of finishing them. It ends up being another I want to join you because reasons/I felt like it. Their company is fine, but it feels like they're there just for the sake of being there for the player. I got it on sale this week for $30. Overall it isn't as bad as people made it out, but mostly the patches fixing the bugs. Now the bulk of the game before the bugs like gameplay is very good in my view. Then the environments, so far since I'm only about 6-7 hours in, are really impressive and well done. This is a strength of the frostbite engine, but the biggest weakness of the graphics to this day is facial animation. I will be fair, but I know $40 million sounds a lot, but for a AAA game this is on the lower end of a budget. They should have gotten about an extra $20 million just focusing on Q&A and facial animations.

Because I lost all motivation after I did all the Angara missions and was able to walk freely through the main planet of Angara.
They maybe fixed the technical issues, but the Plot has still no high points or any form of dramatic structure that keeps anything interesting (after 20 hours in it I expect something like that), MMOish quests and dialogues who are less real conversations and more "quips per minute".

ME:A is not a good game, even with fixing the bugs. I am a ME Fan but had no high expectations and I'm really easy to entertain (Mafia III was, all problems aside, one of my favorite games in 2016), and they managed to make it so bland, uninteresting and boring that I gave up.
