Incorrect. Workers will do whatever you told them to while you're offline, but any worker below blue-name rarity will almost always run out of energy after three or four trips, so you have to be online to refuel them with beer.

If you have better workers (Orange or golden named) you'll be good for like 16 hours before they need beer.

Incorrect. You regain energy at a rate of 1 per 3 minutes while online or 1 per half hour while offline. Laying in a bed simply makes you regain twice the normal amount.

There are also craftable items to regain energy instantly. (Craft beer)

Correct, however these cosmetics can be bought with in-game money.

This is due to the grindy nature of the game. Until level 50, nothing's really that difficult to deal with.

World bosses become available at level 50, as does PvP if you really want a challenge.

Due to how easy mobs are to grind (As you say) it is possible to hit level 50 in a single day of mob grinding.

Yes. You can do anything, but it's more themepark-ish sandbox.

Basically, the game gives you a lot of options as to what you can do, and there is no limit to which of these you choose to do at any given time, but it is still the game just giving you things to do. It's not a true sandbox.

So, you can go and sail out into the uncharted ocean to do some fishing/whale hunting, or you can stay on land and hunt world bosses.

But you can't hunt down other players for any meaningful reward or even choose not to take part in any combat at all.

Almost all content is solo. The only real exception is world bosses.

I played ESO at Launch. I rolled up to level "cap" and started in on the "Play the other faction's campaign" portion of the game before becoming swiftly disenchanted.

It wasn't bad, per se, but it wasn't Elder Scrolls enough to be enchanting that way, and it wasn't MMO enough to actually warrant time commitment and didn't have much content.

I do recall hardmode dungeons being mildly entertaining but they were pretty easy and gimmicks for the most part. I don't recall a ton of specifics.

Has it been changed a lot since that time?
Improved in overall framework?

Since there is such a dedicated shill in this thread, can you convince me to give this game one more chance? I bought it but it's hard to gauge what it's all about. This is me coming off of GW2, which my friends told me was so great, and after a couple hundred hours and a Herculean effort to find a way to like it, I couldn't. The game is just a checklist of things to do, scattered about the map, and none of your actions influence anything. Not even other players. You can't claim territory, there's no intrigue and conflict between guilds, it doesn't feel like you inhabit the world at all. What's even the point of it being a massivly online game? I need AGENCY, dammit!
Anyway, I had some hope because some sites list BD as a sandbox, but some people say it's an extreme theme park. Well? Is it just going to be RECEIVE QUEST >>> COMPLETE QUEST for the rest of the game? Or is it going to have more social structure? Can I inhabit the world? I currently work out of Heidel and Calphion having workers gathering copper, zinc, and coal. Giants do the mining and goblins use all of that ore to make armor that I then sell on the auction house. 100 million per week.

Have you went fishing at all? What about hunting? Sailing?

Quests are shit. Don't focus on them unless you're bored and just want to do something mindless.

That's what the notification and bidding system is in place for.

You tell the game to notify you when someone lists an item you want. You thin have (10?) minutes to rush over to the market NPC and bid for the item when it first goes up.

If you're able to click the "Bid" button, the game adds you to a pool of players that also hit it. It's then given to RNG chance and the game selects a random player out of that pool to "Win" the bid. That player gets first dibs.

You just have to win the RNG roll.

Why do you lie? Do you even play the game? When offline, workers finish the task they already started and then wait for you to log back on. And one task costs 1 energy point, gold workers don't work for longer. The rate of spending energy depends on the lenght of the task, and if it's far from the worker's starting point.

This game needs more armour variety if it's to even be considered the best. Sure, there's a lot of variety on the pearl shop if you're willing to throw all your money away. Most people got this stinking game for $30, thirty fucking dollars to look like a fucking peasant all throughout the game.

That's not the only issue. The game encourages an AFK playstyle, which results in a world filled with players who may as well be bots - oh, and enjoy seeing their fucking horses everywhere because they don't bother bringing them back to the stable so everywhere is cluttered with horses, putting a strain on performance for no fucking reason.

I picked some semi-collector edition, dunno if they give you stuff for basic editions, but most people start with a pet, a set of house decoration, a horse whistle, etc

Oh it's fucking terrible. I heard complaints before I tried the game, but I thought people were just being babies. It's legitimately the worst pop-in I've ever experienced. Like in most games it's noticeable, but never really an issue unless you're nitpicking. In BDO it's so fucking distracting that it actually bothers me during combat. Strafing around an enemy is enough for bushes, rocks, and blades of grass to pop in and out around you in a 2 meter radius. It's horrendous.

The waifu simulation isn't even good, because all you get is a bunch of plastic dolls that come with predeterminated outfits you can't even customize beyond applying temporary dyes, so that every fat cunt looks just about the same and when they don't, they look like a misshappen clusterfuck.

Nah. Even Tree of Savior was straightforward with its approach, and that shit is broken and buggy hell.
Black Desert sold itself as a sandbox YOUCANDOANYTHING, where the reality is you can't do anything at all, everything is automated, and the only actual activity is to grind.
All the glorified horse and boat-sailing shenanigans amounted to nothing because it is simply a more incovenient way of getting around. Its only innovation is that it makes things more annoying to do, for no reason or gain, as there is literally no difference from the mobs in the starting areas to the mobs in fucking Valencia, as the AI is nonexistant and everything is a giant HP blob.

Its only redeeming value is to have made the best, most immersive looking cities in an MMO that actually felt like they were alive.
A pity that then the game loads and runs like a buggy potatoe even on high end PCs so that going to Calpheon is more a chore than it is a sightseeing fun-time, and a bigger pity yet that these awesome cities are fucking pointless as nobody wants to touch any of the quests in them as they give nothing, amount to nothing, and do nothing.

BDO is the most infuriating game ive ever seen, all good parts are under a pile of dealbreakers

Character customization is great, but you can only alter your character very little, a tamer will always look chinese, a sorc always western
grinding is smooth, if you get 4 pets for 36 bucks
you can tame and breed horses, if you AFKtrain them for days
each class has a nice unique dressing style, but premium gear destroys that
you can get quest only costumes, but you have to pay 15 bucks to make them costumes
stats are nice and simple AP/DP, but they made accuracy with zero explanation
awakenings give you a whole new spell pool, but it bascially abandons your old spells since they are half as good
you dont have to spend days farming ore and food, but a few items like milk are not farmable by nodes and you have to spend all your time doing so
the map is big with loads of nice looking places, but you spend 90% of the time at one of three grindspots
You can always world PvP, but 90% of the PvP is some overgeared faggot dashing in from behind and comboing your character

Then there are stupid things like AFK grinding, processing takes hours, why not speed it up 20 times? No its just another thing you do while you go to work 8 hours, make sure you buy the stupid costume to be more efficient.

And then enchanting. Enchanting is just pure cancer. Hey we got a mercy system, but instead of actually making it that, mercy, it just is another mechanic you have to game. Your failstack gear can randomly upgrade which means you have to transfer it to your neg karma character and get killed and lose all your stacks. Have fun spending millions repairing your boss gear, make sure to buy those artisan memories goy, just 50 cents. How you tried getting TRI, here we kick you down the gear treadmill. Also a few whales buy up all the blackstones to blow them on getting PEN gear which is just overkill and for Epeen, but at least it makes you pay more for them.

If you pay up more you can get them to T4 which makes it 2.3 seconds, with 4 pets that amount to slightly less than 0.6 seconds per loot. So better pay up faggot

cheapest pets are 9 bucks, for 4 pets thats 36. Although right now you can get 1 pet for free during the current login reward.
Then if you want to buy other premium stuff from the market you probably want a maid so you dont have to relog, which is 12.50.
If you want some more carry weight (which you really do) you can spend a lot on that.
Then things like costumes that improve your trade skills also can be considered.
Id say with 60 bucks you have a decent set of weight, pets and other necessities.

If you don't mind spending and you find a class you like/enjoy the game, I suggest buying one pet to supplement the free one, you'll be fine with just 2 for a while, and getting a maid for the convenience of buying off of the auction house while away from town.
Other than that everything else is pretty trivial.

Pets are shared between your characters, same with maids. Weight increases and inventory size increases are bound to the character.

And 60 is minimum, ive seen people say 150 is enough to get all the core stuff to compete. You can definitely get a lot more if you pay a lot. But at a certain point you get little return for what you pay. Also B2P is just chump change to keep the bulk of the BRs and RUS out. A small speed bump, their main income is premium shit.


Since this is /v/, if youre a believable trap and know how to voice change with software you can make a cute character and pretend to be a girl and then swindle people into gifting you preimum stuff.

Items that makes the game 10 times less time consuming in the form of easy gear upgrade, xp, and many other thing affecting absolutely every feature of the game.

Not only is there no level cap, but every level you gain extra accuracy and evasion along with HP and MP, meaning you hit people lower than you more and they miss you more. Lucky levels increase exponentially xp-wise, so people are sitting out at 62, probably no more people have hit 63 than I have fingers on my left hand, if any have hit it at all, including KR.

You have this odd idea that I care about what another person does.
If I want to participate in node wars, then I'll man the siege engines until I can stand on the frontlines (or whatever role I choose to play).
If I want to grind pirates, I will, if I want to grow crops/manufacture items and sell them, then I will.
