If anything, if their potencies were gonna stay like that, the balance and bole changes would have been justified.

Down side, you're on level 34 quests, so you've got a LOT of content to go.

Plus side, the new raid isn't dropping until two weeks from now, with the Savage difficulty (which drops actual better gear) in a month. After that you've got a solid 6-8 months to catch up and clear the first wing of Omega Savage at least before you really get behind gear-wise. Honestly you can catch up in under a month if you play a fair amount, leaving a lot of time to do whatever else (alt classes, crafters, gatherers, chocobo breeding, mount farms) you feel like doing.

AST was terrible. Its MP regeneration was absolutely abysmal and due to the fact that its potencies were horrific it meant that you had to spam more of them to get the same effect, burning through your MP like it was nobody's business.
It meant the job could barely heal efficiently and even if you were attempting to keep up you'd run out of MP so quickly that you wouldn't last a fight. Basically, it was broken. Yeah, for short encounters it could get the job done, but for anything mildly heal intensive or anything decently long, you'd be shit out of luck.
That coupled with their generally weak-as-shit cards locked behind a fuckload of RNG (compared to now) and yeah, it was basically borderline useless.

Was one of the easiest extreme primal fights in Heavensward, and people seem to forget that it's not heal intensive. That player's party had the mechanics down to a T and it meant that they had no problem dodging shit, minimizing healing required even further.

No, you chucklefuck. Re-read my post. Saying that being able to solo-heal Rav EX on release as evidence that AST was fine is retarded because the fight barely required any amount of healing at all. In Gordias, actual difficult fights that were heal intensive at the time, AST crumbled.

AST was garbage until 3.2. It did not have the MP regeneration to sustain itself for long periods of use, and it wasn't until 3.2 that it got buffed in that department.

It was "okay" from 3.2 until 3.4. Midas required a lot of AoE healing that AST simply could not provide, and on top of that their card buffs were still trash. A8S was a nightmare on AST because Cure III from WHM made Jwaves infinitely easier.

AST wasn't viable until 3.4.

It's a quick grind when you know how to abuse the mechanics. For example during my first run it took me about 20 hours to reach level 20 and now I could do it in 30 minutes solo and 10 minutes with a friend.
