>1. Hand Held versions They are not being cancelled, we are still in the process of porting. The porting had to be put on hold for a while due to the other versions being delayed and the recent adjustment we had in comcept. However, everything is back on track now. The developer restarted the porting process in early May, and we estimate to release them within 2017 (it could be earlier, but it’s hard to estimate a more precise date at this point). We will update on this when we have more information.

>2. Rest of the physical rewards They have been manufactured (most of them), and are getting ready to be shipped out in a couple of weeks. We estimate to ship everything out (with some reaching the backers) by mid-August 2017. Again, we are very sorry for the delay. Fangamer will be sending out emails to everyone (who is waiting for rewards) to confirm the physical address before the shipping. W

Don't both those handhelds deal with enough Kusoge?
>>
Is Inti Creates doing a full 2D conversion? Their attempt at doing 3D is pretty bad.

I, for one, hope the 3DS version is sprite-based. It might actually be good.

after all the problems this game had in development, for them to change all the assets and art, is highly unlikely

they'll just make it extra ugly for 3DS

I backed the absolute bare minimum and I still got the game THRICE kek and I can confirm.

As >>380551323 says, going full 2D might actually salvage the game.

I honestly never thought the Mighty No 9 saga would properly close. I genuinely assumed they would bail or some shit. Its good that they're finally doing this much for backers, but why did they go under radio silence for that much? They had to release not communicating with backers was horrible and now they have a hell of an uphill battle to clear up their image.
>>
>>380552615
>clear up their image
No need, they're folding into another company.
>>
>>380552615
>but why did they go under radio silence for that much?

Comcept is notorious for poor communication. Likely they don't prioritize it, or have no one in charge.

They probably had tons of internal issues that needed to be sorted out. Reminder that before Level 5 bailed them out, they were a failing company headed towards bankrupsy.
>>
Why? What's the point? It's just a waste of money and manpower.

Inafune. It bombed. Get over it.

I guess having it as a memento of a catastrophy makes keeping it a worthwhile endeavor.

But Inafune still said he's finishing up what was left of Comcept's projects.

>>380552757
At the same time, Comcept needed to keep people aware. I genuinely thought they died out in January since they never updated social media accounts at that time and news on anything related to them was nonexistent.

>3DS version comes out like two weeks after the Switch version
fug
At least that's plenty of time for me to see what the consensus on how good it is is, then another day or two to see if the 3DS version runs fine, BMZ is fine on 3DS so it should be, but never hurts to be careful
>>380552976
Mighty Gunvolt burst, 3DS / Switch sequel to mighty gunvolt. Has both Beck and Gunvolt as playable characters, and people seem to think it will get more later on. 2D sprites, weapon customisation, and you can get combos by killing things close range

Comcept was probably dying around that time. This is what revived them.

They didn't update since they themselves didn't know.

Yeah I checked it out and it looks pretty good, especially since I liked the first Mighty Gunvolt. The game looks like it might literally have every stage from Mighty No. 9 meaning this might as well just be the better version of the game.

I'm surprised I didn't hear about this earlier considering it's literally releasing tomorrow. Or today since it's just a bit past midnight over here now.

I wonder how the guy that paid for the dinner with Inafune feels right about now.

>>
>>380555478
They announced it about a month ago but have only shown footage of the intro stage since then. Looks like it'll have secrets in the stages and the weapon customization for Beck looks cool.
Also, they did confirm at least Eroko as a dlc character. Maybe they'll give her for free for a while like with Blaster Master Zero?

Mighty Gunvolt Burst is a different game from Mighty No. 9.
However, replacing the dash attack with various settings for every weapon including his buster is a great idea. There seems to be some point system tied with making these changes which might limit how much you can change something at any given time, but you can change them at any time during stages.
>>
>>380557595
He is an okish artist, but is outdone by half of deviantart. He has shown himself a poor businessman and cannot be trusted to make good decisions. If anything, he is ok as an ideas guy, as shown in his track record. He may do well in low risk environments like shitty cash grab mobage, which Level 5 intends to make him do.

Inafune's game is that he never lies outright. So you can never call him a liar. But he spins and spins and takes credit by default. He never mentions anyone else's contributions.

There's a reason Inafune was the one producer always willing to do the interviews. It doesn't matter who makes teh game. The guy who gets the press gets the credit.

>>
>>380561391

Inafune has always been a retard. He was just an artist who got promoted because he was around forever. That's how Japanese business works. He doesn't have any special talents. He's not even that great of an artist.

As a Producer, he had teams under him making games that sold. Any jack ass could have done Inafune's job. As long as the games sold, Inafune gets promoted.

Inafune is now by himself, and it's obvious he's a bumbling buffoon who coasted on the hard work and talent of people at Capcom.
>>
>>380561624
It's so weird that he (apparently) knew that much, and yet couldn't do it with a simple Megaman clone. Was it ghostwritten? I wouldn't doubt it. Inafune had a lot of money to throw around post-Capcom.
>>
>>380561387
Wikipedia Comcept page lists it as 2017 but who knows

Does anybody actually want Red Ash? Like, anybody?
>>
>>380561751

The problems with MN9:

>10 ports made at once for a huge array of systems
>Unreal Engine 3, which no one in Japan understands
>Inti-Creates who do not understand UE3
>poorly thought out stretch goals
>modest budget of 2.3 million dollars (they only get 60% of kickstarter money)

2.3 million is nothing in gaming. Remember, the average Playstation 1 game cost 3-5 million, and average PS2 cost 8-10 million.
>>
>>380562043
>Does anybody actually want Red Ash? Like, anybody?

It's just another Chinese knock off.

Capcom should dust off their ML3 and just finish it. it'd be a nice game for the switch.
>>
>>380562213
I wonder if they're actually planning on shoving UE3 into the 3DS.
>>
>>380562356

It would have to be rebuilt in a new engine.

nothing about MN9's plan makes any damn sense.

Inti-Creates did have 3D 3DS games, they should have just re-used those engines.
>>
>>380562356
Obviously not. It's more likely they use Mighty Gunvolt Burst's engine and make it into a sprite game.

>>380562043
>>380561387
I kind of want it...
I actually know someone. According to him, the game is still being developed, albeit it's not going exactly smoothly until recently. The anime production seems to be going alright though. Anon is right too, seems like Red Ash won't use Unreal Engine and instead make an in-house engine. Screenshot me if you doubt my word when we hear about Red Ash again.
>>
>everyone blaming inti creates
I doubt they're to blame. They can make good games. I'm sure having Unreal shoved down their throats didn't help them
>>
>>380562841

Inti creates are middle of the road mercenary devs like Wayforward. None of their games are really that great.

BUt the key is that they didn't know how to use Unreal and that completely messed up development.

>>380562764
>albeit it's not going exactly smoothly until recently.

There needs to be either a tell all of Comcept/Inafune or some kind of documentary. it sounds like an absurd madhouse of mistakes and problems. Sort of like "Masters of Doom".
>>
>>380563036
>None of their games are really that great
Mega Man Zero was great as a series. ZX and ZXA were alright. The Gunvolt games are good.
>>
>>380563036
>Inti creates are middle of the road
Blaster Master Zero came out like three months ago, and the only complaint I've heard about it is that there's not a good difficulty between normal (complete lack of penalty for dying) and Destroyer (every enemy is a ridiculous bullet sponge).
>>
>>380563036
>it sounds like an absurd madhouse of mistakes and problems.
It is a madhouse of mistakes and problems, according to my friend. Basically, when Inafune brought up UE3 to make MN9, the japanese programmers muttered "What is that?". Red Ash was apparently going to run on UE4 but they decided against it after several problems they'll make their own engine instead. It is also entirely possible Breath of the Wild's success as an open world adventure will influence it. Again, the fucking anime is going more smoothly than the game proper.
>>
>>380552030
Level-5's CEO is an uberjew anyways and it's just one subsidiary, if anything Level-5 might just put the Battle Network and Star Force staff that left with Inafune to Comcept to good use for once. Because besides Soul Sacrifice, Comcept certainly hasn't.

Bloodstained's development seems like a total mess too. Iga had to hire new teams to work on Unreal, and it isn't even clear if they know how to use it.

>>
>>380564263
>Is it true they ddin't have any proper programmers, built the game in Unreal level builder, and passed around usb drives to keep code up to date?
Nope, that's not true. But it IS true that Comcept themselves are NOT a game developer, merely an "ideas company". MN9 was developed by Inti-Creates. In paper that was a great idea, had Inafune not forced Unreal Engine 3 upon them, just because he promised UE3 in the kickstarter.
They being bought was just a matter of time.
>>
>>380565229
Asked my friend. Retail, but it might be on limited quantities because of the game's infamy.
>>
>>380562213
Inti-Creates did GalGun double peace, and that ran on Unreal Engine 3 too. Why did they have so much trouble with this then?
>>
>>380567456
Apparently lack of prior knowledge and a horrible development process/learning the tools as they went. GalGun runs like shit on Vita unless you overclock it via homebrew. It seems making a game like GalGun is easier than a 2D sidescroller that uses 3D models (and thus needs physics programmed in).
>>
>>380567456
>>380567678
I forgot to add: Not only that, but there was the problem of "How are we going to port UE3 to all these platforms?" GalGun had the advantage of coming out in only 2 platforms.
The kickstarter was too ambitious. I know the One and the PS4 had a rough start, but they shouldn't had added 360 and PS3 to the porting list.
>>
Fuck that schlock.

But I am looking to buy a vita, OG or Slim?
>>
>>380567678
>>380567776
To be fair, Vita is way underpowered and Unreal Engine 3 in no way belongs on the thing at all. Every game that runs on that engine runs terribly on the system with horrendous load times so I think that has more to do with the Vita's hardware than anything.

I thought you were joking about the 10 different versions for 10 platforms but I just looked it up and it's true. That's insane. It's no wonder someone as small as Inti had a problem with it for just that reason alone.
>>
>>380568627
You don't even know. An android version was considered at one point...
>>
>>380568416

I understand the hatred for Comcept/Inafune, but why has no one pointed the finger at Inti-Creates? They were heavily involved in the development of MN9, and they had no fucking experience with Unreal Engine.

I get the anger, but MN9 feels like it got fucked for a shit ton of reasons. I still feel like Inafune could still make a great game. At the very least he knows not to deal with american feminism and not to make the fucking ports at the same time as the game now.
>>

inti made gunvolt which apparently "saved" megaman and absolved them of anything MN9 related. people still have wool over their eyes for Inti, most people give BM0 and gal gun a pass too despite being shit games.

dunno what "feminism" had to do with fucking up MN9 (is this another jab at dina again?), it seemed inafune bit off more than he can chew like most kikestarters and figured that unreal would just program itself on all platforms in existence apparently.
