I've said it before but it makes sense to keep supporting the 3DS and the 60mil+ people that bought one.

Sony and Microsoft continued support for the ps3+ x360 for years after the ps4+xbone were released. Where did this autism come from when the Switch was announced everyone thought they would immediately stop support for the 3DS?

They're even still somewhat supporting the Wii U even with Zelda DLC, would like it to be better support like X360/ps3 got though.

My prediction is that the 3DS will get it's own successor separate to the Switch (4DS?). The 3DS has features that you can't have on the Switch (Cameras, dual screens, better portability due to size) and so Nintendo may cater to those slightly different markets.

If nothing else it should at least look and run better than HW. Big reason HW was so shit on 3DS is because it was a downport. Fire Emblem is being developed from the start with N3DS in mind, which should make a huge difference in performance.
