What the fuck? It's a good game and it used to have good reviews, what happ-
Oh, nevermind. Thanks, Paradox.
>>
people not blinded by nostalgia decided to try out the game and reviewed the game for what it truly is: outdated.
>>
Good game, paradox policies
>>

Such scummy fuckers
>>
>>380538113
There was a slight interest in isometric RPGs a few years ago. So the best response was to Kickstart 10 of them within the same year, and do very little to make them actually appealing. PoE like Shadowrun and its other contemporaries, relies entirely on nostalgia to entrance the player. Wipe that thin veneer away and the shallow gameplay and supermarket-shelf fantasy literature writing becomes dreadfully apparent.

so is the recent surge of negative reviews due to Brazilian price increases, like EU4?

divinity is a better game in every respect and has co-op

theres no reason to get pillars of eternity.

anyone know if the new Tyranny DLC is any good?
>>

Not Brazilian, more like half of the fucking world.
>>
>>380540616
Not just Brazil. Russia too, apparently.

what happened to cause this? US price seems the same

These retards deserve to be in the brink of economic and social disaster.

Divinity setting is also shit, but at least everything else makes up for it...kinda.
>>
>>380540958
Nothing in particular happened, Paradox just decided their base prices were too low compared to the income level around the world or some bullshit like that. That's seriously what they said.
>>
>>380541203
their greed knows no bounds
>>
>>380540748
Don't fall for it. Wait until they have the complete edition in two years or so.
>>
>>380540748
It's actually good. Brings alot of life into the game.
>>
>>380541460
haven't even gotten the game yet, due to the tepid reception

I heard the upcoming DLC will add a "Loyal to Kyros" ending, so I'm glad I waited to play the game

>What went wrong with this game, /v/ ?
Nothing.
>>
>>380538113
CRPGs are a dead genre, nothing new here
>>
>>380541357
Yeah, it's ridiculous.

Also, found the quote:
>Hey gang,
>As you have noticed prices for our products have increased in certain regions around the globe and this is something we've intentionally done. The reason for this is to make our prices match the purchasing power of those areas, as well as create a more equal price point for our products across the globe.

>Our prices have remained pretty much the same for several years and it's only natural for us to re-evaluate price points at regular intervals based on the strength of various currencies, fluctuations in world markets and many other factors. This is something that all publishers do and we are no exception.

>Sadly this means that the price has gone up for certain regions and whilst this is something we'd like to avoid, it's necessary to keep our price point more in line with our other markets. We sincerely apologize for any frustration this may cause and hope you can understand why we are doing this.

And an incomplete list of the countries affected:
Brazil
Canada
Chile
China
Colombia
Eu Countries
Hong Kong
Indıa
Indonesia
Japan
Malaysia
Mexica
New Zealand
Norway
Russia
Peru
Philippines
Saudi Arabia
Singapore
South Africa
South Korea
Taiwan
Thailand
Turkey
UAE
United Kingdom
>>
>>380541573
You should wait more. Game isn't finished as of now. It ends on a cliffhanger that they'll probably add an expansion to continue eventually.
>>
>>380541716
holy shit Paradox
>>
>>380538113
They censored their shit because some loud sjw fags made a stink.
>>
>>380541716
>not giving a poverty discount to shitskins

Paradox are jews but they're in the right this time
>>
>>380541716
Instead of making it cheaper in poorer countries, they raise the price. They weren't really thinking on this one, are they?
>>
>>380541915
What was censored?
>>
>>380541740
it's Paradox after all, I expect they'll still be milking DLC for this game two years from now
>>
Wow the game is $9 more (Canadian) then when I bought it full price two years ago. Talk about greed.
>>
>>380541716
Now i feel better than i never paid a dime for a Paradox release...i mean i didn't give a shit either way but now i feel good for pirating from them.

literally one throw-away line written on a tombstone by a backer that would have been long forgotten if not for some autistic SJW who is a watchdog for transphobic content in vidya

>>
>>380541716
holy fucking shit
that is not how you fucking do it

look at batheseda, they also decided their prices were low but instead of being scummy assholes and increasing the prices of existing games, they just started to increase prices of NEW games.

When even fucking batheseda won't be such fucking jews you know you're in the worng.
>>
>>380538113

>Canada and the UK
>not shitskins
You first Mdembe
>>
>>380541716
>boohoo muh poverty
You realize the faggots that can afford vidya in these shit nations have higher incomes relative to their counterparts in the first world when adjusted for cost of living because of corruption and income inequality, right?
>>
>>380542276
>>380542404
But thats right...oh i guess they missed the biggest shithole: Kekistan!
>>
>>380541716
>we are adjusting out prices according to the purchasing power of those countries
>price went up in every affected country, even in the poorshit ones where it should've gone down if they were really "adjusting according to purchasing power"

rly maeks u thing
>>
>>380542646
I wonder who's behind this post.
>>
>>380542912
Actual poor people in turd world shitholes don't have the time or money for vidya believe it or not. You really think some Peruano or Ruskie Jew should pay less because the country he's feeding off of is being leeched dry?
>>
>>380542558
Not to mention Bethesda tends to release complete editions of their games for a lower price after some time. Meanwhile Paradox just increased release day prices of games that are several years old already.
>>
>>380541716

Probably trying to cut out key resellers. Pretty jewey but I can see why.

Anyway PoE was missing some substance. The setting and story wasn't very interesting, and just wasn't very satisfying to play for reasons I have trouble putting my finger on.
>>
>>380538113
Can't stand this genre it's so fucking boring everytime I try it.
>>
>>380542601
>>380542484
>countries are more white than United States

You guys are literally retarded
>>
Huh, I just decided to play it again for the first time since release. Did they neuter the bullshit *teleports behind u* Shades, or is it just because this time I didn't choose a masochistic difficulty setting? I also like how it actually has companion AI now. It would've been very beneficial for Obsidian to have had this sort of thing in-game when they released it.
>>
>>380543437
one thing was the absolute garbage skill system, after making New Vegas you'd think they'd know how to make a good one of those

luckily that's gonna be fixed in pillars 2
>>
>>380541716
half of those places are third world shit holes are you kidding me
>>
>>380541716
This is a good thing. The games should be priced perfectly in relation to the USD. Its not our fault your shit hole is a shit hole. Fix your country first and stop being a lazy shit playing video games.
>>
>>380543635
>""""white"""""

Sure thing Achmed
>>
>>380543686
half of those places are in the middle of an economic crisis
>>
>>380538113
if you don't click on any gold ghosts it isn't too bad of a game
>>
>>380543726
I don't think you realize how capitalism works my friend
>>
>>380543635
Whatever helps you sleep at night, Abdul.
>>
>>380538113
pcbros are manchildren that just have to complain
tons of good games on steam like this
>>
>>380543895
Capitalism only works in developing countries. Once a country is fully modernized it becomes a parasite from lack of things to do.
>>
>>380538113
It's fucking boring.
>>
>>380543726
Hold on, your point is that if you happen to be born in a shithole you're not allowed to buy videogames because "fix your contry first"? Are you retarded? You do know that what happens when people can't pay the price for the game instead of the producer receiving less money the game is pirated and they receive 0 money, right?
>>
>>380544198
God...i really hope you don't realise how retarded you sound.
Keep going pls.
>>
>>380542026
One of the backer gravestone things. It was a Limerick that essentially was:

>Guy fucked women.
>Women turned out to be a man.
>Guy threw himself off a cliff.

And of course sjw took offence to it and sent a screenshot of it to Sawyer, it started spreading around and obsidian removed it.
>>
I unironically enjoyed it.
The world was kinda dull tho, it is like they tried to make something unique by just taking cliche things and giving them a different and 'weird' name
>>
>>380541716
>new zealand is affected
>australia isnt
suck it cunts.
>>
>>380538113
commplaints about still paying less than US market. that's what happened

120 real = 36 burger dollars

still 9 dollars cheaper than us
>>
>>380544198
capitalism is about exploiting "developing" countries. They're never going to be allowed to fully develop, every economist knows that.
>>
>>380543971
>>380543775
I live in Minnesota you autistic red necks
>>
>>380545028
>Somalia the third
I live here too, how do we fix the Somali problem?
>>
>>380541573
It is a good game, probably one of my favorite CRPG systems in a video game.
>>
>>380544198
This is like the reverse of true, developing countries which fully liberalize the economy always do better in the long run.
>>
>>380538113
>Both Pillars and Tyranny being fixed after release
I wish I had the self-control to stop pre-ordering and wait two years
>>
>>380538986
It's no worse than classics like BG2 in those aspects. Those games just get a pass because of nostalgia. No classic isometric RPG that I've ever played has very deep combat mechanics, and the only one that can be in any way said to transcend supermarket-shelf fantasy literature writing is Torment, just barely.

PoE did a good job of recapturing what its backers missed about Baldur's Gate. It may not have been perfect but it was more than worth the $20 it cost to get a free copy by backing the Kickstarter.
>>
>>380545270
look we ALL know the only plausible answer to that is to fix the jewish problem first
>>
>>380541716
>The reason for this is to make our prices match the purchasing power of those areas
>as well as create a more equal price point for our products across the globe

this two sentences do not correlate
>>
>>380546321
Pillars was still pretty good at release. Tyranny was trash and is still trash and will probably only be mediocre when it's all patched out
>>
every single nu-crpg has been good to excellent apart from wasteland 2 which was horrible, sick of you contrarian faggots
>>
russians and brazillians got buttblasted the game got more expensive in their regions

make no mistake, the claims that paradox are a bunch of greedy jews arent unfounded but then again the econmies of those countries and going down the shitter
>>
>>380546732
this tbqh. I wouldn't have paid full price for it, but the $23 AUD I spent was well worth it.
