I never heard of the PC version so I don't know how it is. But it doesn't appear to be in English nor can I find anything about it. The DS one is probably shovelware. The Wii one is the only one I was aware of. Minor motion controls though but it's like Mario Galaxy. This. I expect shit from Ubisoft, and never played any of the Rabbits games, but it looked alright.

I only know Rabbids from that Rabbids go to the Moon game. It was fun and charming, but not amazing. It felt a bit cheap, like trying to imitate wacky Japanese humor, but it wasn't at all a bad game. This looks like they're putting more work into it, so I look forward to it.

The game has obvious inspirations and could be called a rip-off for that but it really isn't fair. There are enough unique ideas and soul that have been put into the design choices of the game that it really doesn't matter if it's really similar to X-Com or whatever.

If you're referring to the story of a dev, working his way through what I can only assume is the hellhole that is Ubisoft, to reach up and touch Nintendo and be praised by them. Then sure that's fine.
