Has anyone played the actual rabbid games? Am I alone in thinking they're actually competent and well put together games? The one I remember is the moon one and I had an enjoyable time.

At that point, I wouldn't even care if the Rabbid variants of characters existed. To me, with that mix of characters, it wouldn't feel like they are trying to solely appeal to the Minions "audience".

The gameplay looks rather boring and simplistic. And the out-of-combat gameplay is pretty straightforward too, you just walk around some really generic looking environments, maybe do a baby-easy puzzle. In XCOM you have the geoscape, base-building, recruiting, etc, this game doesn't have anything even close to that.

Even if we ignore the rabbids the game looks mediocre as fuck. And the rabbids ruin what could have been a serviceable fanservice game. It could have been the Smash or Mario Kart version of XCOM, with a bunch of fan-favorite characters thrown in, instead of rabbids wearing different outfits.

People who hate Rabbids are autistic.

I think I'd much rather have had traditional Mario power ups as their attacks and the rabbids have their own wacky stuff. The arm canon, bombs, etc look a bit out of place. That said, it's a lot better outcome than I originally thought. Was really afraid it was going to be some 2D Mario platformer with Rabbids.
