>Binary triggers
Why
>>
Because the only thing it would be useful for is 2 racing games and Super Mario Sunshine on a potential GC VC.
>>
Because I've never seen a game that actually has good use for analog triggers since Luigi's Mansion and Mario Sunshine?
>>

MGS2/3
>>
>>380533339
Nearly every racing game.
>>
>>380533339
I don't think I've ever seen good use of analogue triggers other than in a small handful of GameCube games.
>>
>>380533339
What about gentle acceleration and maintaining speed in racing games?
>>
>>380533675
>>380534592
The only truly popular realistic racing games are Forza and Gran Turismo. Mario Kart isn't going to use that considering the wider audience it's trying to go for, and since nothing else is going to use analog triggers, why bother?
>>
>>380534951
Analog trigger is a more generally useful thing than a binary trigger is. Any control mechanic that works on a binary trigger can work on an analog trigger, but not every control mechanic that works on an analog trigger works on a binary trigger. It's a better all around design.
>>
>>380534951
True. That's why mostly using triggers in racing Mario Kart throws me off.
>>
>>380529969
Because Nintendo can't into analog triggers anymore
>>
>>380529969
Sonybros hold the analog trigger patent hostage. Macrohard can splurge on using it, Ninty can't.
>>
>>380535553
Some will be awkward on long-travel analog triggers, like most of Splatoon.
>>
>>380534951
Having analog acceleration in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe would actually be useful , 200cc is a shit show of people going way too fast to turn corners because the maps were designed for slower karts.

>getting triggered by binary triggers
>>
I didn't even know that other controllers picked up how far you pushed the trigger until fags started sperging over it because of the Switch. Literally inconsequential.
>>
>>380529969
>No Pressure Sensitivity on buttons

Does Nintendo hate extra features?

>Unironically preferring mushy, long-travel, unresponsive, analog triggers instead of proper tactile buttons with immediate reaction.

If you want to play racing games properly, buy a set of wheel and pedals and stop ruining our controllers for 2 games.
>>
>>380529969
Because Nintendo knows at some point they're going to offer a smaller/cheaper/more portable Switch and for that system analog triggers will be practically impossible.

Of course that didn't stop them from doing the Joycons and HD rumble which will almost certainly get axed in the future revisions but those features are much more optional than analog triggers.
>>
>>380536414
Can't you accelerate using the right stick? Do you have deluxe? I know you could do that in the original 8 but never tried doing slight acceleration.
>>
How soon do you think there'll be a hardware revision for the switch?
The thing at present is poorly constructed and bloated with features I'll never use, like the joycons, the screen and it's portability in general, the fact it uses a fan for cooling, TN/IPS screen mixes between production batches, etc. I want to buy one but currently its a hunk of shit.
>>
>>380529969
name a game that uses analog triggers thats not a racing game

Traditionally, 18 months after launch.
If I had to bet, I'd put money on a cheaper and more portable Switch launching along side the Switch Pokemon game.
