I played through most Fallout 1, I am at the part where they just told me to go and destroy the source of the mutants. Is there any way I can finish the game without bothering too much with the combat, aside from setting Easy difficulty? I want to finish the game but I find the combat a bit tedious at this point

dialogue option is shit because it's such a minor detail during your time in the BoS and yet it develops to be the most important key in the plot. Not to mention it's completly unbelievable that the master would miss having an army for many years without a single new born.

join option is utterly retarded because the master claims to need the pure vault humans to conquer the wasteland yet then goes on to murder all of them

compromise the nuke option is meh because it's just so anticlimactic. you probably already blew up the military base so doing the same shit twice is no fun. however I can see a scenario where this might actually be the most fun option for some people.

That still means mutant wouldn't be able to survive as a race. They'd be reliant on some sort of governing power sturcture that manages those breeding pens, which in itself would run opposed to the idea of Unity (and TEAR ITSELF APART).

Master's end goal was to replace humans completely, and used it to justify the atrocities he commited. It's a "the end justifies the means" kind of a situation where it turns out that the "end" wouldn't actually work, so he's just left with the consequences of the "means".

It just wasn't a part of his master plan.

The sterilization is also foreshadowed ZAX in the glow, where you propably learn about FEV in the first place. If you're actually paying attention to the story, it's very unlikely you'd miss talking to the head scientist of a high-tech order of nuclear knights, right after visiting a biogenetics laboratory where you had a chat with HAL9000.

One was clearly rushed and has a huge amount of game-breaking shit in it, but I would say it is worth it to play through it completely before moving on. 2 has more content and is probably a better game from a technical standpoint, but one is way more fun imo.
Just download Fallout Fixit, but avoid the parts that actually alter the lore/quests etc.

I don't think he had it for many years. Their swift progress throughout the game seems to imply that they started mobilizing not long before you stepped out of your vault.
