As a Wii U owner, and a happy one at it, I get your reasoning.
Still, I know the Wii U made its course and it's time to move on. Mario Odyssey convinced me to make the jump, I'll buy a Switch this October for it, Bomberman, Arms, Splatoon 2, Puyo Puyo Tetris, Sonic Mania, Xenoblade 2 and Prime 4.
Of course, I'll ignore all the stuff I already played on Wii U, like MK, Zelda and Pokken, no amount of new content would convince me to do so.

I enjoyed my time with the Wii U, they have been 4 amazing years and now I can use my Wii U to get onto my Wii and GC backlog. And of course, playing W101 and Bayo 2 like crazy every now and then.

I'm going wait until next year, with (maybe) Pokémon and Fire Emblem Switch releasing. I fucking suck at shooters, ARMS doesn't seem like a game I'd play a long time on a day and I tried to like Odyssey, but the game just can't seem to reel me in.

yeah well the Switch is going to get the NEW versions eventually you just have to wait, just like you did with the WiiU, that said, somehow you thought it was ok to wait for those games to release when you got your WiiU, now you don't.
