1 Town of unique NPCs, characters and storylines.

Then the rest is a build-your-own-game game.
Complete with generic nameless NPCs to fill out the ever so vast and empty, soulless, soulless world.

Also strong, strong disappointment in the levelling system.

"Where are the numbers" you ask.
There are no numbers. Not anymore.
Your level is "The picture with the guy doing that thing". Your level is the perk.

Also the occasional "fuck you, we're genre switching now boys" horror moment when a night-unkillable super legendary "fuck you, I can't believe you thought this would be good. Suck it Vegas fags" death-claw spawns simultaneously on top of and behind you the moment you jump down a ledge you can't climb back up.

Also, 1000 "customisable" guns that are exactly the same.
And a broken stealth system that would let you violently rape someone without them even noticing.

Get a refund, hire a cheap meth whore instead and whatever drugs the change can get you, because it's likely that she'll have better gameplay, dialogue options, storylines, she'll actually notice you if you try to sneak (shifty little meth head) and best of all she won't expect you to build your own boobs.

You lost your right to have an opinion whenever you sustained the prerequisite brain damage required to think Fallout 4 is so good.

Playing fallout 4 makes me wish I'd never played New Vegas before so I could play that through for the first time instead.

My biggest gripes:

1) Voiced character. Dudes a total whiny do gooding pussy no matter how you try to play. Backstory and motivation is fine but I don't want to have the game dictate who my pc is in a fucking role playing game.

2) Dialogue is shhhhite. Reads like bad fan-fiction and goes on and on and on and on. Fucking companions interrupting my fun to sit and talk endlessly and painfully slowly about their 'feelings'. This shit was penned by a lonely fat chick or a man with the soul of one.

3) Weapon customisation. So it's basically just a grind to level up to unlock the arbitrary perks to upgrade to the single most powerful set of mods because everything else is pointless.
How about instead of making mods so easy to make, give them a much higher resource cost but open it all up from the get go. That way you'd have to really scavenge for enough material to save and build one specific mod and it'd actually matter and shape your playstyle.
Also why the fuck does auto wreck the damage? The trade off should be accuracy, recoil and chewing through rare ammo like crazy. It's the same caliber ammo, why the fuck should the damage be lower it just totally misses the point of automatic weapons because they clearly couldn't fucking balance it properly.

4) Still buggy and glitchy as piss and the animations are still fucking awful.
I wish they'd just focus on getting a solid base experience going instead of trying to get fancy. Switch engine already. They've made enough fucking money to fund that. Get on with it.
Playing on survival actually helped to add some immersion to the experience but the bugs and the terrible AI make it overly frustrating at times.

I won't lie. I had some fun with it. Most of the enjoyment comes from the setting though . They couldn't fuck up if they tried. It's fallout, I'll never not love fallout but this game tries.

you know, I played Fallout 4 and I agree in whole spectrum that game is shit (improved gunplay, but at the cost (cost which I do not approve of) raped rpg elements and completely empty world (there is ONE city in the whole game, all else you have to build BUT it's not enforced on you, you know)

... But it's kinda strange no one noticed than if you play a woman then a man carries the child around (and gets killed for it) which is pretty much a lot of male empowerment in today feminist and feminine-favoring society.

i just got it too. annoying me right now, because i get a side mission for example in the first big city, and getting to it is a nightmare, and when I get there i am underpowered. Why is that quest available so early then? If you have that kind of game, where you can pick up different missions at any time, they should have a recommended level like Witcher 3

hopefully this is what other people experienced, and i'm not just abysmal

Superior to fallout 3 isn't saying a lot. I probably would rather play 4 than 3 though. I'd rather play fallout NV or one of the originals any day. They should at least consult obsidian to help with the writing.

I mean yeah she's an emergent human so it's kind of her thing, but Curie isn't at all helpless nor is she oblivious to the kinds of things going on with her body. She's more like an autistic virgin who spent most of her life in seclusion; knows nothing about the outside world and needs you to show her, but at the same time will risk her life to defend you at all costs. In a way you kind of take care of eachother.

I wouldn't recommend trying to take the castle at a low level unless you have 25 frag mines stockpiled. Giving you that quest early was a questionable decision.

), but general consensus is Gen 3 Synths are more or less 3D-printed humans with electronic bits in their brains.

Though the Institute has been trying to eliminate the human factor; it's implied the endgoal involves eliminating biological needs based on FEV research, but without the messy drawbacks of Super Mutants. Research isn't going so well, though, and they hadn't learned anything in years but keep sending failed experiments into the Commonwealth.
