Maul and grievous had the best sprinting attacks in this game. Shame this game's netcode is so poor otherwise it might have had a pretty good multiplayer scene

Sometimes I miss playing BF2 with /v/. Most of the time people didn't join but at times there were a lot of anons playing.

A lot of poor design decisions and general lack of the type of content that's expected from a Battlefront game. I played it some free a while back too but it gets boring real fast and the game's deep flaws become apparent after that.

BattlEAfront 2 is actually looking promising in that regard, the majority of my complaints about the first one seem to have been fixed. It's still far too early to tell if the game will live up to any expectations but it already looks a million times better than their first attempt.

I wish more people on /v/ would try out the Movie Battles 2 mod for Jedi Academy. Battlefront 2 is fun and all but this mod is way better in my opnion. More of a stat wars counter-strike than a battlefield though.

Battlefront II has really unique projectile speed and fire rate, and the gameplay coming to modern-speed projectiles and fire rate is making the damage:health ratios really favoring quick TTK.

Bfront II's pacing makes gunfighting favor skill over who sees who first, and it's still favorable for newbie play because it's reducing the incomings to almost-dodgeable.

It's allowing a focus on mobility, with a stamina system, and staggering incoming damage even more with reloads.

Also, vehicles located on the map (+ ammo, etc.) is reinforcing an "I'm actually here, traversing this realm" ambiance.

In JKA they're shit, in the mod in the webm called Movie Battles 2 sith and jedi are the only classes with saber combat, the rest are all gunners such as soldier, elite soldier, mandalorian, bounty hunter, hero or a dozen of clones, everyone's different and has different guns. And they work against jedi/sith, they've got that thing called FP just like in JKA that depletes down as you shoot at them, and if they don't defend themselves the shot goes through.

There are a punch of ways to counter force users. As the other anon said you can just shoot them until they run out of fp and die. In addition to that if they swing at you if shot midswing they'll flinch and cancel the attack. You can also counter the push and pull powers by crouching or walking.
I will say though that in high skill play the jedi/sith will usually end up winning. I still haven't figured out how to counter force choke and lightening effectively.

I think it has to do with it being Star Wars. Good sound design in a Star Wars game goes a long way, especially back then. Like, I've always found myself remembering damn near every sound from Dark Forces 1 and 2 and Shadows of the Empire. Rogue Squadron too, for that matter.
