Also in response to last thread, i'm probably going to take Goad, Invigorate, Disable, Leg Sweep, Second Wind.

I'm not sure taking Diversion is necessary on SAM since their damage takes a good amount of time to ramp up unless you're using Meikyo Shushui straight off the bat - but on a fight without stuns i'd swap Leg Sweep out for it.

Also as an FYI for those who haven't noticed - Feint isn't leaving a debuff like Virus does, so could theoretically be chained for as long as you have melee dps to put it up. This is pretty massive on heavily physical fights.

Oh and the reason i don't neccesarily like Meikyo Shishui in the opener is because you wont have enough Kenki to enhance the finishers with Kaiten, but i could be totally off.

You wouldn't really want to enhance finishers with Kaiten - Kaiten costs 20 Kenki and enhancing a finisher would add 200 potency, whereas Shinten costs 25 Kenki and is 300 potency, making it a more efficient use of Kenki. Kaiten is worthwhile pretty much only on Midare, far as I can tell.

Also tanks' damage (and thus enmity generation) may be getting pretty trashed, I think taking Diversion is worthwhile, especially on Samurai since you have an extremely easy replacement for Second Wind in your kit.

All the races are accurately represented proportionately to their (active player IE non-bot) popularity according to the census aside from midlanders, who are oddly absent. My guess is because the majority are normalfags, the majority of the remainder are contrarians, and then there are a small percentage of people who get triggered by clipping.

If you hold a shield with a handle you're causing immense stress to your wrist; it's only advisable to block like that against light weapons (hence bucklers) or you'll break/wear down your wrist. Larger shields are strapped parraelel to your arm so that you can hold them like pic related (fig 1) which gives you the most coverage while blocking without holding your arm at an awkward angle.. Fig 2 illustrates how it gives you the most leverage as well, since it distributes the force of the blow evenly along your entire arm rather than the force ramming the edges of the shield into your arm.

That's true, yes. There's only a half-second window between casts of Holy Spirit and if an auto-attack falls outside of that window then it doesn't happen.

If you work out the timings yourself, PLD will usually get two auto-attacks in a 5-GCD Holy Spirit window.

It also obviously won't get the slashing debuff that's going to affect all of PLD's direct physical damage. Holy Spirit is actually not really bonkers-level strong and once you figure in auto-attacks it isn't even PLD's strongest 4-5GCD burst, but not many people have figured that out yet.

I really want to get back into this game but it's fucking bullshit. It's basically a single player game with a bunch of ACTUAL multiplayer content (Extreme and Savage) locked behind a long as all hell story. Easier multiplayer content cucks you with weekly limited rewards and the harder stuff requires constant communication with people who are willing to keep going after a single wipe. The worst part is, I can't convince any of my friends to play a long single player story that requires a monthly subscription just to get to the good part and the jump potion doesn't solve this because that's even more money. Yeah, I know my problem is no friends but I feel like FF14 could be handling this better too. I actually really enjoy the story and it's one of the things I'm missing most but paying $12 a month for a single player game is unjustifiable to me.

If you use fire to get rid of umbral ice, then use fire again to get astral fire, you've done less than a blizzard, then as much as a bilzzard, and now you're in astral fire, but with no MP, versus being in astral fire with full MP.
