One of the biggest issues with PS3 was limited graphical memory so they couldn't do anything about HUD and had to scale some things down at launch to make it fit, so the new job gauge gimmicks are literally impossible to implement.

The nerf to its AoE damage is significant but will probably only have a serious impact on your effectiveness in dungeons. Of course they could also gate everything and make us do a bunch of 4 mob pulls and if that happens sch isn't so bad off. In a raid environment scholar will likely continue to be quite good.

As someone who plays all three healers Astro is frankly too powerful and needed to be nerfed instead of buffed. WHM will be serviceable but their new skills are fucking junk in comparison to the other two's. If you're interested in raiding as a healer I would level Astro and Scholar, then WHM if you're curious. I happen to really, really enjoy WHM but its lack of team utility and unfun-looking new mechanics mean that I'll probably raid as scholar, again. I think double Astro might turn out to be better, but scholar is so damn easy and well suited to its sub-role.

I use it for dps and healing. I dodge shit and handle mechanics perfectly while being consistently at 1st-2nd place given my gear is appropriate (I even beat Shire shitters with a Padjali weapon), and I play both SCH and AST comfortably with it while stance dancing.

It's only shit in Frontlines where there are 500 niggers running around.

For crafting I prefer clicking on hotbars with my mouse because I'm a lazy fuck

My best advice to you would be to join a big/active FC, there you should be able to find people in fc chat who are willing to queue with you through dungeons. Hell there are probably even people who are willing to craft you gear so that you don't have to grind to 235 for Baelsar's Wall. Since you're on Ultros try joining Terra or SEED, they're both friendly FC's with lots of active players and you can always leave if you don't like it. You could also try GAF or ZR but those have neo-gaf and /v/ shitters in them.

It's easy now, go to the materia melder NPC in any major city. Items have stat caps which you can't go over, but you can see all that in the melding interface and it generally won't let you screw it up. You should be able to meld all your gear with +GP materia.

Math has been done for this. Using MP on Blackest Night and then using the Blood from BN on Bloodspiller is a net loss of 10 potency compared to just using the same MP on Dark Arts - but it's a gain if you use the Bloodspiller during a TA/Balance/Litany/etc where you can't fit any more DAs.
