I don't think you understand the term "Lovecraftian"
Isolation is a "ooga booga I'm a big monster coming to eat you buddy" game.
The horror comes from your inability to fight the monster because it cannot be killed and can come from anywhere; that much is made clear very quickly.
The xenomorph could have been a giant pink cupcake monster and the game would not be very different..
