They're combos that complete themselves if you press the same button over and over, so you can press AAAAAA and get a long string. One thing that worries me is that it looks like everyone so far has meter burning "upgraded form" moves. Frieza can go 100% power and even Golden, Goku can go Kaio Ken, All the saiyans can obviously ascend forms, and so on. What does this mean for characters like Tien or Yamcha that don't have that? Are they going to be gimped because of it? Or will they just get non-canon powerup forms because of the way the game is built?

I think it has more to do with their fighting style and which aspects they prioritize, not literally how strong they are. Gohan's SSJ2 was a huge breakthrough because it massively increased his speed and strength (the two highest factors on his chart) without any drawbacks. more samefagging. there's a lot of interesting stuff in here, actually. what I and other people have been calling a burst has a prompt appear that says "sparking blast" and Goku glows with a red aura. so, this game basically has X-factor. what's interesting though is not only that it can double as a burst if you're taking too much heat, but the lightning bolt icon (which there's only one of) doesn't deplete until Goku loses the aura. this may suggest that the effects of it will carry over to a character you tag in.

also, Goku's level 3 super that showed him turning SS3 in other footage has no such effect here. not sure what other conditions there are for the transformation.

I hope they get fighters of all different shapes and sizes to make a potentially smaller roster look more varied and dynamic. Shorter, stocky characters like Master Roshi or SSJ3 Gotenks and larger fighters like Nappa, Recoome and Broly would be important. As much as I love the Z-Fighters, having a bunch of humans would look pretty bland from an outsiders point of view.

I really wish they put in Tien and Yamcha. Tien having the 4 arms, multi-form and switching between Dodon Ray and Tri-Beam would be nice and Yamcha's Spirit Ball and Wolf Fang Fist would be awesome. In JP Yamcha is popular as a meme so I'd expect his defeat animation being his meme death pose.

I think a good way to put characters like SSJ Blue Goku and Vegeta is to make them skins for their regular versions. Since it seems that Goku can go SSJ3 they could replace that with SSJ Blue + Kaioken.

The same could be made to have characters like Piccolo Daimaoh and Kale, from DBS, as skins for Piccolo and Broly respectively
