Why would they remake it? Zero Mission was only made because the original Metroid is rather unpalatable. Samus Returns is only being made because Metroid II is, again, rather unpalatable. Metroid III is an almost perfect game.

Imo, Metroid 2d really needs to remain spritework and 2d assets.

If they go 2d it is at a minimum, Ori tier art or bust. This new 3ds one looks like hot garbage.
