I feel there's still a lot of polish left on this one, it was announced unusually early (let's hope the GCN curse doesn't come back).
They've been refining the look since the Wii and I think Robobot was one of the best looking games on the 3DS, but we'll see how much if any changes on this one. I think the right shading would help a lot, a simple rim light made the 3DS games looks a lot livelier than RtDL.

That said as someone who's put a lot of thought into the games I think they really do look great, at least better than the usual 2.5d affairs (looking at NSMB, new chibi-robob and pikmin), there's a lot of thought put into capturing the visual style of Super Star's lively tiles and environments while also a lot of work into the backgrounds. With each new game they break off more and more from the "blockier" molds anyways, and I've no doubt the more organic environments and set pieces are simply still in development while the tiled stuff is easier to put out and show off

Still though in the past games it felt pretty natural and would swing around with him as he ran, plus all the animations work around that stance as a starting point. With Switch he does the sword obtain animation then it has to awkwardly flip into the new stance, as with the attack animation. Its also less holding it up to the side and more like weirdly holding it back, almost like leaning on his non existent shoulder. Its just awkward overall, plus static as he runs

Nah m8, just because HAL is smart about it doesn't mean this shit isn't the usual low poly count. Its maybe a bit higher than shittier games, but its still pretty low and tricks whenever it can get away with it (those cubes aren't actually beveled, most of the mech's studs and surface detail are normal maps). Its nothing compared to pokemon's excessive high poly count models.

That and no one brought up the model's quality, just the general aesthetic and work put into it is good (good texture work and shading goes a long way). And yea the 3DS resolution is fucking abysmal, but it also means getting away with some stuff that's more obvious when you upscale it

I love that the Kirby devs have (mostly) avoided trying to force gameplay gimmicks into their games. Graphically it looks just like the last two mainline Kirby games which is to be expected. However, I'm excited for the return of enemy helpers as well as power combining, though the latter seems to be a bit different from the Kirby 64 version.

It's meant to introduce new gamers, and especially young gamers to game mechanics without being to difficult.

I like the main platformers but you literally have it backwards, in the platformers it is just a gimmick, tacked on and takes away form regular gameplay. In the spin-offs the "gimmick" is regular gameplay, they simply have a different way of being played and that's far better.
The Curse games and Mass Attack are some of the few proper use of touch screen, actually having a control scheme work with the feature to create something that could only be played that way, as supposed to gimmicky ways of inputting basic shit that buttons could've done

If it's the Ninja ability then I suggest you do the multiple throw knives to get him come toward you. When he does, stop throwing and step back. Make sure you have room to do so. He'll attack using his lance, putting out stars projectiles onto the field. Then go next to those stars, use your Grab move and hopefully that would land a hit on him.

Alternatively, when he comes toward you use your dash attack and get behind him. Then hold the B button and do the multi slash move which deals a shitton of damage at a very quick rate. Rinse and repeat. Just make sure to study his movement and pattern, and you'll do fine.
