I think at this point "Prime" is more about the style of the game rather than the Phazon arc: Prime=FPS-adventure-y kinda deal.

I really, REALLY hope it controls at least somewhat like a normal FPS now that it's on a console with dual thumbsticks. Ideally, they would give you the option to control it like a normal FPS or to switch to more of a wii-style control scheme using the joycon's motion controls. I grew up on Metroid Prime. I would play 2 at my friend's house all the time, and I remember reading about 3 before it came out. My best friend at the time who turned out to be a massive fucking cunt told me that his mom worked for GameInformer and he got to play it. I thought he was full of shit, but he may actually have been right.
I obsessed over Zero Mission and Fusion, and remember curling up in bed with my DS Lite to play Hunters.
I dunno why I haven't played AM2R yet, honestly. I actually had the original Metroid 2, but didn't get very far 'cause I was a dumb kid and the game was tough as shit.
Just hearing the Prime menu music triggered a powerful emotional response.

I hope they keep the atmosphere, and that enemies pose a significant threat.
There ought to be enough new powers to make the game feel less like the fourth installment of a series, too. What would really make me happy, though, is to see lots of spooky shit. The part of Phendrana Drifts in Prime where you're exploring the Space Pirate research station and then the lights go out / *glass breaks* is one of my favorite parts of any Metroid game.

So I've just started playing the first Metroid: Prime on Dolphin. It runs smooth until explosions start appearing and then it drops to 10. Game was running at 60 until I killed the Parasite Queen, then the exploding ship just killed the games performance.

Is this ROM always like this on PC?
Should I just buy the trilogy and play it with motion controls?

we all want to have a deep, replayable, and challenging story with top tier atmosphere, but the normalfag masses always prefer a multiplayer shooter.

Nintendo has never really had a unique first party, multiplayer FPS. Geist had a unique premise, but only 4 player multiplayer with no online. Metroid Prime: Hunters had the most complete multipler shooter experience. It was a shooter before its time, in many ways. Especially considering the varied classes. Before Splatoon, Nintendo's best fist party shooter was Prime Hunters for the DS.

With their renewed push for esports, it will be interesting to see if they go down that road.
