She was designed and developed to be a unique and intriguing boss rising to main character status, occupying her own niche, and it seems she stuck in the minds of those who paid attention to her in DL3 and K64. She was set up, developed, and she was gone, while Meta knight was set up, developed, and stayed. The fact that she stopped appearing only makes her more mysterious, and I think leaving her out of Air Ride and other upcoming games was a mistake. But it's understandable, since the creator left so there was no driving force to push the character, while the other director made sure Meta Knight would endure by sticking him in Air Ride.
>You have no idea how much demand there was for Meta Knight back in the day, when people though he was gone, and Super Star was the one-off style. From Kirby 3 to Kirby 64 fans were absolutely clamoring for him. I was one of the guys hyped to see him return for Air Ride, but I also expected Adeleine to return too, since it only came out a couple years after 64. I doubt she'll ever be the main character Shimomura obviously wanted her to be, but even if she reappeared as a recurring side character that would still be a victory for his legacy and those who enjoyed his direction. On that note it's looking like Kumazaki has a "Meta Knight" too, someone who seems like their favorite who really shows how their style is, in the form of Magolor. I like him as well, and I'm glad he's not dead.

It's a spline, or array of vertices connected smoothly by smoothened curves. I took a model that looks like this and made an array of them, or just a long chain of the same thing over and over again. Then I bent that array to match the spline so whatever happens to the spline, happens to the rail models. If I twist the spline, the models attached to the spline at that point are twisted too. While he most likely is part of the moveset, it could still be a thing where you have a partner as a powerup that can be called upon at any time and how they help is dependent on what power you have.

I'm actually kinda disappointed. Nago is just part of an existing moveset, and hate the 4 player focus because it makes the levels really wide and empty. Also the ability mixing being tied to a helper looks a little annoying

Although I'm hoping that there's a Dededetour time trial mode where you can play as any Helper

Very. Kirby is a bit quicker, you have infinite jumps, abilities have multiple movesets but you can't combine abilities with others, and you have a life bar rather than a health bar with pips. I actually found Star Dream, along with PR's true arena way easier than TD's true arena.
The only bosses in PR's True Arena I found hard were the DDD clones and Galacta Knight.

Meanwhile TD had Pyribbit, Dark Dedede, Dark Meta Knight, and Sectonia Soul.
Star Dream is a fucking push over compared to Sectonia.

Literally the only Kirby games that are remotely similar to others are the three most recent games, and the remakes. Gooey actually cameos less. Adeleine shows up 3 times on the anniversary Twitter, while Gooey shows up once on the cake (not in person, it's a wax figure) and once in their theme. But he was cut from the 3DS version of the theme, while Adeleine wasn't. The only ones that regularly cameo are Rick, Coo, Kine, and Dark Matter, all from DL2. Not to mention characters like Acro who don't show up at all anymore.
But they're not being purposefully excluded, they just aren't mainstay characters who had the benefit of appearing in Air Ride, the anime, and Nightmare in Dream Land. That cemented the "main 3" status of Kirb, MK, and DDD. Adeleine's chances are looking a lot better now than they were last year, so don't get too upset.
