You can tell they're desperate. The backwards compatibility of 360 and OG Xbox titles is not your usual Microsoft. Look at the Kinect, half a billion dollars spent on R&D for that useless piece of shit, and they also spent hundreds of millions on developing the controller. They're pulling out all the stops to try and make their gaming brand desirable.

If there would be interest for it, we would already have a working emulator. There's no reason to wait for the company to do shit, people will figure it out themselves if they really want to, see every other emulator scene.

The only reason the Xbox brand hasn't been killed by MS is because Nutella came in and decided W10 was going to be cancerous garbage. Sucking in and trapping as many people as possible into W10 before they wall up the garden is literally the only thing MS cares about right now. Spencer has no doubt been basically told: "Use Xbox to get people on W10, Xbox stays as long as its useful for that purpose."

That is the only reason Xbox still exists. Its just a vehicle to get people into the W10 environment. Which makes me hope that the scorpio bombs hard, because as bad as Xbox is doing, there is a legitimate chance MS just says 'fuck it' soon. Of course that would leave Sony unchallenged and usher in a new era of vidya hell. (Nintendo is pretty much a different market than Xbox and Sony)

I know a lot of them got bound to the xbox due to exclusive contracts and then because the xbox lost the console war nobody bought the games so they're just left to rot, even amazing games like metal arms.

Well, I dunno. Xbox Live on Android, iOS and Windows, we don't make any money from connecting people. You and I probably use a service like Discord. There's different business models where it's not just about charging people. The console space is a little more difficult because there's no money made on the hardware. So in that space the business model has to be a little different.

I'd say another thing we've been doing on the PC side is Mixer, our broadcasting. It was great to get PlayerUnknown on our stage, a huge game on PC. Some of the console people don't know about it. Felt a little bit like our Minecraft announce way back in the day, when we brought that to console. A lot of the console people were like "what is this?"

Third worlders have shitty Internet and long downloads can get fucked up on the store. I've had zero issues as well but my friend with shit Internet always seems to have issues. Specs are only part of the equation, though. For example, the PS4 is sizeably stronger than the PS3, but the cell is so unique that getting anything to emulate around not having it is basically impossible at this point.

Thankfully the Xbox series being built around x86 means there are a lot more redundancies, which means porting should be much, much easier. However, I'm not a relative expert so I'm not going to run my mouth and say it's child's play.

The game runs based on my hardware with kb&m support, support for most usb devices variable fps, resolution and modular graphics settings. It's literally a pc game. I fucking welcome a big dick coming along and challenging steams monopoly. That will require some work with cabling, PC doesn't recognize OG Xbox connector even if you use the mediator from 360 controller, you need to take the original wire, split it open and wire up a USB connector. Also after you do this you can use xpadder or alternative software to bind all the buttons and use it to play MechWarrior. And honestly SB itself is not very good, it's the immersion from controller that makes it fun.

Well, Intel could potentially end up suing Microsoft over patents it thinks prevents emulation of x86 CPUs, and this could impact any plan to provide emulation of the Xbox, which uses a P3 Coppermine processor. You have to see it from Microsoft's perspective. Both Xbox and Windows 10 are 100% MS platforms, releasing their games only on Xbox One makes no sense at all, on Windows 10 more people can play the games and make Microsoft more rich and and her titles more popular. And i honestly don't understand the argument "Xbox have no games because they are released on Windows 10" it's MS platform anyway, basically the same thing as playing on Xbox One, and you can't play MS games on PS4 or Switch.

Dolphin removed DX12 in favor of Vulkan.

Considering the similarties to Xbox One OS and Windows 10 it's hardly a stretch. The big problem with making an Xbox emulator has been lack of documentation and I'm sure Microsoft has everything they need in that regard, considering they fucking made it.

Xbox is probably the least interesting console ever for me, it only had a single exclusive game that I wanted to play (Crimson Skies.)

But I'm really liking this new thing of unifying Xbox and PC. Even if it's Windows Store it's still an option, and anything that brings more games and exposure for PC is good. Sony shenanigans are just annoying.

Original was more challenging and had a more realistic aesthetic. Both of these points are subjective to your enjoyment of the game, but I found the locations being more similar to real world environments to make for a comfier atmosphere.

The music in the original was mixed better and the only JSRF remix of an original JSR track that was actually an improvement was Grace and Glory (though it was a HELL of an improvement)

Both games are great, but it's difficult to argue that one is 'better in every way'.

Well, he could sell or give free the emulator via the Windows Store, then sell the "remastered" games too. If they're going to give the emulator for free, then it'll most likely be tied to or even built into the Windows Store so they can begin to build a customer base (steal and share from Steam and other online distros) AND the Store acting as a DRM all in one app.

OG fans could either play their old games or buy the remasters. New fans, who don't have the OG games, could buy the remasters. If Xboners want OG Xbox emulation available to them, they can buy or get it for free too, then either use their OG Xbox games or buy the remasters.
