Hard to say. Sunshine had a lot of room to explore and goof off in. Odyssey seems to have a small explore area, with linear game trails branching off.

I think there's potential for this to go very badly wrong.

I like that Nintendo are taking risks and probably it will pay off, but that doubt is stuck in my mind.

I kinda liked the trailer, but then they showed actual gameplay and it looked boring as fuck.Also ugly and uninspired, compared to Galaxy.

I was going to put it after Galaxy but I felt like since it's literally built off the same engine it wouldn't seem fair.

But to be honest I just don't have as much desire to revisit 2 compared to Galaxy or 64. Galaxy 2 was still great but I didn't like some of the changes (no true hub, no Ice Mario, less story) and how it recycled a lot. Also the music was more generic than 1's, with several songs that just try to be the next Gusty Gardens instead of doing their own thing.

Also Sunshine isn't bad. It's just not better than the others.
