This is true, Super Star's formula was made for powerhousin' enemies and it was fun. They tried to bring it back in the Kumazaki trilogy but they did so in the worst way (super powers). More enemies is good, unless it's an Adventure/Shimomoura formula game.

The level design is improving from what I played, and having background/foreground interaction is an enhancement.

I don't know about those helper designs. Sir Kibble and Poppy Bros. Jr. look a bit odd with Kirby's hats on. I understand making them look different beyond recoloring them, but just putting Kirby's hat on it looks weird.
The game looks great though. It'll probably be the best Kirby game in a long time.

Why is everyone saying this is the cancelled GCN game? That was very clearly re-purposed into Return to Dream Land. It is, since Kirby was designed as a powerhouse. Fighting hoards of enemies is fun. It's better than barely taking any damage since there aren't enough to challenge you. Revenge of Meta Knight is the best mode and that one throws the most enemies at you.
