Ventrue was fun in my playtrough where i played as a justicar in training. Enough dominate for dialogues, all the rest in fortitude and defense skills. You feel like you can go anywhere and nobody will resist you, either physically or mentally. Helps in explaining why your character became so powerful in so little time. Too bad lore wise 99% of Ventrues are just dominate/presence faggots who could get killed in a fight by a ghoul easily, like Lacroix.

I actually went into the game blindly and after the initial questionnaire I ended up playing as a Nosferatu.

I really regretted that, the creeping around on its own could've been cool but it's just awfully inconsistent throughout the game. They didn't commit to having a full Nosferatu storyline, instead you do mostly the same things as the rest of the people with half the NPCs mysteriously being just fine with you being an unspeakable abomination. That's seriously immersion breaking.

I mean even the intro doesn't make sense, the vampire that turns you is obviously not a Nosferatu, so what gives? They could at least have made a different cutscene.

So yeah, Nosferatu is shit, never again.

But really if that was the only thing that wouldn't bother me too much. But in the rest of the game you keep encountering human NPCs who will tell you "wow man, you look like you need some rest" while looking at an eldritch abomination in full BDSM gear. Meanwhile people in the street will immediately call the cops on you if you come too close.

Intimidate is pretty much useless unless you really need money. Other than that, it's hard to really mess up, but things get more physical later on in the game so it's best to pump some points some combat related skills like melee, firearms or offensive magic before then.

Your best bet is to figure out the kind of character you're playing and play to their strengths, like Brujah and Gangrel's melee and Tremere's magic.

If you're intelligent it's not hard to piece together what you're saying. Hell, if you're even just familiar with RPG's and know what kind of options should probably be available to you from context, it's not hard to piece it together. And as for the Malkavians getting spoiler dialogue? Yeah, that's the fucking point. Malkavians know shit they shouldn't, but they also might be too insane to understand it. The player getting inklings of what the Malkavian dialogue is implying without knowing anything for sure is such a gigantic mental and roleplaying treat that I'd say you should be MORE inclined to play Malkavian on your first try, not less. Because if you come back on a second playthrough those furled brow moments when you realize that someone is lying to you or whatever the fuck just based of some whispers and your Malkavians dialogue, that's pretty much absent because you already know.

My only problem with Malkavians is that they look fucking ugly. So what I personally did was swap their models out with the Toreador, it was top fucking stuff.
