It doesn't flood your map with a laundry list of chores, but rather gives you a vantage point to see glowing spots and interesting geography to promote natural exploration, rather then Assassin creed's connect the dots.

At least in zelda there were only like 7 towers. And when you activated them it only filled in the map terrain. It didn't show you where everything was. You still had to find the shrines yourself.

And many of the towers had challenges to climb them. Had to fight a bunch of enemies at the base of the tower or get past a tar pit or that weird evil goo or whatever.

AssCreed looks interesting, but since every game is shit, you know what looks interesting goes to waste which is always disappointing.
