I just wanted to see the new Miyazaki From Soft ARPG. That's fucking all. I knew that was literally the ONLY chance of saving E3 and sure enough it wasn't there. Fuck everything.

Yeah, pretty much this. I didn't expect Fromsoft to make an appearance but I had a faint hope we'd see the ARPG. Sadly not the case though, I guess Code Vein looks MILDLY interesting but the vampire shit is kind of a turn off and I doubt the gameplay will be even 20% as good as the better Soulsborne games. Days Gone turned out to be an interactive movie dogshit with horrible enemy AI. Spider-Man turned out to be an interactive movie dogshit infested with quick time events and no real physics/momentum based webslinging. God of War looked decent, but isn't coming until 2018. This E3 was an absolute disaster for Sony and PS4! Metro Exodus, Code Vein and Monster Hunter World will all be available on the PC. What is the point of owning a PS4 then? From a remake, yeah. As a remaster of a PS2 title though I think Bluepoint did a fantastic job with it. So much so that I personally don't see a reason to care about this new version, even if Bluepoint is doing it again. Also SotC was extremely impressive in the fur and physics department for its time. You can do better now almost 12 years later but in 2005 I'm still floored that a PS2 pulled that shit off, it's like seeing Banjo-Tooie on the N64. So long as it still has plenty of big spectacles, seeing as the setting and the spectacles of the fights were always GoW's biggest draw in my eyes, I think the new one will be a fine entry to the series. I could do without the brooding Kratos and the story trying to be really serious, but I'll live with it, so long as it's not too intrusive.

I'm the one who said that. When I say "perfect remaster" I mean it took SotC as it was and fixed its problems to a reasonable and sufficient degree with competency. Personally, my real beef with the original is its dodgy framerate. Ambitious effort but it pushed the PS2 just a little too hard. The PS3 remaster makes it stable, fixing the game's most outstanding problem by a wide margin in my eyes. You can talk about filling out the empty world but that's remake territory, not remaster territory.

it can be many things, but perfect is a stretch.
it didn't fix the wonky physics and actually made some of the fights almost impossible on the hard time trials.

I'm not talking about "filling" it, but rather of taking advantage of it not being taxing on hardware so there's no excuse for not bringing it up to the quality of other first party PS3 games
