Can /v/ discuss the upcoming abortion of a sequel to Fuck Tolkien: The Game without sperging over "we wuz men of the west n shiet"? If that's what's most objectionable to the legendarium then the Devs have actually managed to make a game consistent with its setting this time around.
Too bad it's not and they absolutely fucking haven't.
Shadow of Mordor was great, if you care about the lore then go and read the books.
Granted no one here reads or has any experience with Tolkien outside of Peter Jackson's adaptations of the book but I really can't overstate just how offensive Shadow of Mordor is to everything Tolkien's memory. A movie adaptation of The Lord of the Rings was never made in Tolkien's lifetime because, although he was interested in the project, no one could suffer his total, uncompromising attention to the most minute details. The most minor changes anyone else would dare make to HIS story infuriated him.
If Tolkien somehow knew this literal fanfiction were cavorting about under the pretext of being part of the universe he created he would rise from the grave and disembowel everyone involved in its production.

I do.
And what was "great" about the game anyway? If not the fuck Tolkien approach to storytelling then the "right click to win" asscreed troglodyte gameplay mechanics? The pointless nemesis gimmick?
