Well anyway since the PSP episodes, I've been dreaming of a MH game coming back to a Playstation console. I got what I wanted (even if I truelly wanted Dragon's Dogma 2 or online).
I'm happy.

I don't know how anyone can be upset. Who the fuck only owns one fucking console in 2017? I skipped every handheld Monster Hunter. I'm ready for this shit. Switch version comes out first, I'll play the shit out of it and when the PS4 version comes out, I'll play the shit out of it too (unless they release it on the PC which will never happen, but I'd play it there over a console).

I only own a PS4, because it has a few games I like on it. Xboner is a complete non-contender on any level and Switch is a handheld, not a console. For the record I don't have anything against the Switch, I'm just waiting for it to get some more games I give a shit about; at that time I'll be PC/PS4/Switch idort.

Has anyone here actually ever played any MH and watched the trailer? The trailer makes it look like the whole focus of this game is on environments (which people already criticize about 4 and X) and luring the monster into a precast trap (a tree for a pitfall-esque trap, under a rock to shoot the rock and have it crushed, clumps of branches in the water to make it slip).

You can always just jump onto the monster, even when it's in a trap. He did not stand in front of it and try to time his attacks properly to hit the wobbling head, no, he just jumps onto it and mashes buttons. Almost everything in the trailer seemed scripted, like a long corridor the monster is chasing you through.

It's not Monster Hunter. It could be a fun casual game but it shouldn't even be called Monster Hunter. There is no winner here. Quit the console warrior shit.

I'm not really bothered by this because I own a PC and a Switch. I played Monster Hunter on my PSP once and dropped it pretty quickly because of the controls. So I'll just wait and see how the PC port turns out.
