Not worth the performance toll.
I've recently got myself a 49" 4k hdr tv, hooked up my pc, and launched RE7 in 4k with hdr, and then Dirt 3 in 4k.
After that I played those using 1080p settings.
The difference was almost unnoticeable, when sitting 3 metres from the tv.
4k meme is pushed harder than the muh diversity meme by the publishers.

I like how Sony fans last year were spamming "4K" but now they say resolution doesn't matter.

I play retro games everyday, my pc and internet connection are shit, so I can assume I never played or watched anything at 1080p 60fps, and I don't need to.

4k may be a shit return on investment itself but HDR is really sweet. Forza Horizon 3 and Gears of War 4 look amazing. Movie wise I've only seen John Wick in 4k HDR, it was pretty nice but it didn't stand out like game HDR did. I'd like to see more.

It's okay. Not really worth all the hype MS and Sony are giving it. They should really focus on being able to just do 1080 60fps first before trying 4K.

I don't own a 4K tv and i've never seen games running on them.

Do 1080p games look bad on 4K screens?

Having played my PS4 on my 4K screen, there is a noticeable differance, the 1080p image looking a bit soft, but it isn't bad.

Some games look great, some look horrible. Fallout without mods looks worse to me in 4K than 1080.

Now we've got another ten years of excuses before we move onto 10K!

Gaming has currently hit a graphics plateau. 4k while nice, isn't that big of an improvement over 1080p.

I'll use DSR until monitor/tv tech improve and price go down. Also screw 4k, wake me up when they finally fix ghosting, lag and backlight bleeding.
