I refused to believe Gamergate was a meme.
It was the only time the vast majority of /v/ actually got along to expose the toxicity that had riddled video games for so long. So much information got exposed and everyone was running around in a panic like chickens with their heads cut off.
Unfortunately though, /v/ and many other boards were flooded with falseflaggers as a result, the movement was destroyed due to the double edged sword known as anonymity, in addition to false information being spread everywhere and enforced by even educational staff members.

Games sales have been slumping every year for almost a decade. People are stopping buying games. I think a part of that is because they are sick of being indoctrinated with them. Sick of those games force feeding them things they don't care about or disagree with.
And the truth is still that far more people have heard of his game than anyone would have if this controversy would have happened.
We know feminists are a tiny tiny minority in game sales. Why fucking even try to market to them or appease them? We've seen TONS of games attempt to market to this crowd and fail fucking miserably. And the amount of devs who apologize almost always ensure their game do poorly.
